10/25/2023 4:07pm i'm pretty blown away to have to say this to grown adults (i assume) in our forum, but every time someone trolls or says something you don't like, quoting it and explaining why it's lame/unsavory/kooky/political only makes the thing you dislike live on for days. in the history of the internet, has anyone ever changed their mind and said "you're right," after being challenged/critiqued/criticized/called out in a forum? not that i'm aware of. the garbage has been moderated for now. if you don't like something said here, use the thumbs down, move on, watch it die and it'll be forgotten...

10/25/2023 2:30pm I'm Mike. I do all the things, but none of them better than "pretty good". Jack of all trades, master of none. I ... - enjoy gettin' out and after it, basically just being outside, doin' hard stuff. - like adrenaline and accomplishment, but usually feel like I'm in way over my head - In addition to MTB, I like skiing and ski touring (like winter MTBing), mountaineering, climbing, and trail running, and rafting - am cheap, but also have a gear addiction. And a deal addiction. I'm usually looking for the best mid-max deal I can find. What's the...

10/25/2023 10:38am Absolutely noone wants to read your political posts, and your name dropping really isn't helping either. Loads of folk in the chat have contacts with high level names in the mtb world but dropping them like you are doing is just weird. We are all here for fun team rumours chat not politics. Take it elsewhere.

10/24/2023 3:46pm Hello everyone! There are some fresh rumours from the German website mtb-news.de. I will sum up everything. Some rumours are well known, but there are also interesting new... (sry for my English) - Vali Höll back to YT - Sam Hill to YT - Trek factory racing: 2024 still with Reece Wilson and Loris Vergier, Kade Edwards maybe racing some events and not part of the racing team but Trek sponsored, Sacha Earnest could join the Factory team - GT factory racing is done, Wyn Masters will stay with GT (new manager? support other riders?) - new Intense and Mondraker...

10/24/2023 3:27pm Read on UCI IG comments, I thought it was hilarious: "2026 schedule is just Loic doing solo runs at home while being followed by a drone flown by Cedric" It might even finally become a Toyota commercial...

10/13/2023 9:11am As a fluent French speaker who lived in France for 14 years, I can offer a bit of context. The “gypsy” term is basically used interchangeably with “camper”, not intended as a slur but more of a funny way of describing anybody living out of a van for a while…it obviously gets lost in translation here.

10/6/2023 1:01pm The point of semis was to suck. (Tinfoil hat on) ESO didn't want to do semis, they wanted to cut straight to 30 elite men from qualifying. They got negotiated into keeping 60 qualifying spots, but came up with semis as a half assed way to still end up at 30 riders in the final. ESO has no incentive to run semis well since they didn't want them anyway. Now next year they will make a statement about how they have heard the negative feedback about semis and are stopping them for 2024 and cut straight to 30 like they...

10/6/2023 1:01pm If Jackson or Finn don't win I really want Loris to win. The Loris win would be to really piss off the Yanks that are taking it personal that he thinks Snowshoe is shit track.

10/6/2023 1:25am A couple of things that have come up for me regarding courses and rider safety. I'm always saddened to see a rider injured. When it's someone as fast and high profile as Amaury Pierron the situation brings a lot of attention from fans, although this stuff probably happens more than many of us realize. AMBA just signed our contract with US Forest Service for a series of DH trails here, so some of this stuff is at the front of my mind. USFS separates "hazards" from "risk". That pile of logs and branches just off the trail is a good...

10/6/2023 1:23am What's the point of having a B Zone if it isn't going to be cleaned up? You can look to almost any other racing sport to see how track boundaries are specifically designed to help mitigate risk. All auto racing tracks are designed with space on the outside of critical corners to give a buffer from hitting a structure, or if there is no room, the walls are specially constructed to absorb impact. Or look at ski racing, which takes place on these same mountains, and notice the layers of different types of fencing, and the pads on the trees...

10/6/2023 1:17am I know this is the internet, but multiple things can be true at the same time. Could Gwin have been wanting to help a fellow 'merican? yes. Could it have not been possible to sign him for more based on the teams budget mid way through the year? yes. Could Dak have deserved better compensation? Yes. IFR could have "taken advantage" of the opportunity to sign Dak for less than they may have if the situation was different. "Taken advantage" does not have to be framed in the context of abusing a situation or person. It could just be that...

10/6/2023 1:16am I ran into some of the Yeti camp on the hill in snowshoe. I asked if Richie was racing downhill next year. He said Yeti is going to follow what ever he wants to do. So i asked if that means they wont have one or other. They said they will have both a downhill and enduro team next year.

10/5/2023 4:49am I think the real reason for this is 'it's easier to use an existing fork than machine our own fixed legs'. This setup seems like it would be harder to tune and more unpredictable to ride, because you never know which spring will be compressing, and what the axle path will be doing.
