GODDAM this is annoying. The whole point is that thanks to the rear mech mounting to the axle a hanger is NO LONGER NEEDED. The frames still use a UDH mount and tolerances that have been in use for years now. How many UDH frames have you seen where the axle doesn't thread in due to mis alignment? how many frames have wheels off centre due to bad UDH tolerances? The square root of F'All. Most misalignment comes from poorly produced.....................hangers. If the mech is out of alignment with this system, there is a whole lot of F'wittery going on...

Had a chat with one of EU shimano distribution team member around new year and, to summarize, he said shimano has no plan to respond to sram on high end products for the next 5 years (shimano production schedules already full and planned until then) but is working R&D to comeback strong at that point.

the possibility the prices are this high to squarely position the new stuff in the utmost highend. That would mean high cashflows even with lower volumes If you can afford 10k for a pushbike , you can probably afford 12k.

To be honest I noticed the TRP stuff much more than if it was released a week ago. A week ago it would have been 'nice, I wonder what Sram will put out'. Now it's like 'TF is Sram smoking with these prices and features, TRP looks like an utter win compared to this'.

I'm an 11 speed guy and personally find the really low 50-52t gears counterproductive to forward progress no matter how steep the trail is. But then I only run 30T front chainrings on my 29ers, not 34s like Nino and the boys. I've had AXS since it was first released as a group set, and really it works amazingly well and took all sorts of abuse. It's on my wife's bike now. I only got burned once on a bike ride by a failing battery. That said, I went with X01 11 speed on my DC bike and knocked off...

for the rear i swapped the ex511 with a fr541 on the enduro rig. i usually whack the rear rim after one season (not true anymore and dents) keen on the result by the end of the season. so far notably stiffer than the ex511 in terms of sideloads and flexing. still flexier than most of those ultra stiff rims that just makes for a harsh ride.

Looks like another quality DT product, I'm just glad you dented it. A DH rim test without dents is a sham.
