7/19/2024 8:48pm DH racing doesn't need more big trucks, more money, more TV, it needs more racers and a more global culture. In a long run it's a win-win if athletes and brands can be exposed to more markets. Good luck convincing Weiner Bros of that........

7/19/2024 7:55am Almost all the big teams are European though. If they all disappear, there's no teams. You can't make that change overnight without losing the whole sport's infrastructure along with it.

7/11/2024 2:08pm I assume these new Kona's were in the pipeline before the original owners re acquired it. It's only been a few months so I would give them some time to work on new things. I think they should relaunch the Sticky name with a fun and playful gravity focused bike a la the Specialized Status.

7/11/2024 1:17pm I've been riding an Orbea Wild for the last couple months and have been really impressed. To be honest, I don't notice the weight of the bike while riding, at least most of the time. Hopping over big logs at low speeds and super tight jank takes more effort, but everywhere else, it feels like a regular bike with insane levels of traction. Range hasn't been an issue at all thankfully. I've done some big backcountry loops in the 25-30 mile range with 5,000-6,000' of elevation and have had 25-30% battery remaining and that's with healthy use of the higher...

7/11/2024 12:34am Has anyone heard anything about Chromag coming out with an aluminum dj? Allegedly one of our local slope guys has been on one, but it feels like a pretty big departure for Chromag to go that way. That said, maybe their riders have been asking for something more slope oriented than the Monk?

7/11/2024 12:26am Having been to both Windrock this spring and the Leogang WC a few weeks ago, I'd say there isn't a chance in hell a WC will come to Windrock any time soon.

7/10/2024 6:34am I'm going to sound super liberal (I'm not) but it's seems like there are better environmentally friendly noise makers.

7/10/2024 6:33am Watching all of the extra content from the weekend and man.... I dont want to be that guy but what does a chainsaw bring to a race other this an earache? I'd so much rather hear the crowd or the cowbells or the vuvuzelas. Downhill needs to stay wild but I guess I draw the line a gasoline powered noise making.

7/9/2024 12:56pm Orbea Wild (top build, lots of $$$ as counterpoint) is 46 pounds with full class leading power, full sized motor and 600ish wh battery. Given its success in the EEWS (or EEWC, or whatever its called now) I would say its "burly enough for heavy duty riding". I had this argument on the other site before getting my account suspended. Budget low power, or "SL" ebikes, seems to be a losing category business wise. They weigh too much for the assist provided. I feel like around 42 pounds is the tipping point (unrelated, thats what my DH bike weighed back...
