I'll preface this by saying, I've never owned/ridden a bike with a dropper longer than 175mm. I've had 2 AXS reverb in rotation on various bikes for the last few years, Evil Offering, Specialized Enduro, Epic Evo, Neuhaus Hummingbird, Specialized Stumpjumper, and Transition Spur. And I have ridden fairly gnarly trails with those posts, Pisgah, Kingdom Trails, Phoenix, Sedona, and Iceland. I cannot recall a single time when I had my seatpost completely dropped and thought, "man, I wish this were a little lower." Similarly, I've never had a crash or close call where I thought the seat's height was...

It's not a proprietary motor. It's a Gobao P120. Limited number of brands using it but it's not just an Aventon motor. It uses Shimano bolt pattern and apparently their batteries will fit same space as some Shimano. Could be a path of people that like their frame with a crapped out Shimano motor that are looking to update. Alutech in Italy is going to be using it and has said they would sell the motor customer direct for Shimano replacement.

The good thing about bafang is that you can just buy whatever motor or battery combo you want

Motor is a Gobao 120. A few different brands have their own white label versions of it. Each one likely has their own software tune on it. I think these share the same mount pattern as a Shimano. I think the Gobao is more refined torque sensor set up compared to the current Bafang M510 but they have a new RS version coming that is supposed to have revamped their torque sensitivity and added a rear wheel sensor that is 48 pole like the Avinox. The Bafang has a community that has basically open sources the software so if you...

Our French-speaking colleagues at Vojo Mag reporting that Isabeau Courdurier is planning to come back to racing in 2026 (after the recent birth of her first child). She will race select enduro and DH events, with the focus mostly on the latter (coached by Cecile Ravanel).

That's 2 of her 3 seasons with Norco wiped out. 😖 Erice is a tough lil bugger, she'll be back and hopefully the 3rd season will be the one for her.

I don't know whether to be alarmed or relieved that bikes are so homogenized that even aventon can release one.

Have you completely given up trying to genuinely contribute in these forums? I haven’t seen a post in weeks that has a positive connotation or actually adds to the conversation. Please don’t turn this place into a pinkbike comment section.

9 months? But I thought the Supreme Leader said there was nothing left to target and he could end it any time he wanted. Maybe he's getting rich out of the higher oil prices? 🤔

The public has spoken, they prefer skinny downtubes over better handling. Even though many have documented that lowering the weight in this place is very noticeable and in a good way. My personal opinion is that Bosch should offer a skinny 800 (or more) battery to match what Avinox is doing as an option for the manufacturers. They can still offer the fat 800 if they prefer. I'm susceptible as well to the fashion statement. I wanted a 600w battery and I didn't want my bike to look pregnant and obviously be an e-bike. If the LTe had a narrow...

Great question. You'd think so, but no. Because the BB sits below the axles, and because FC and RC are measured from the center of the hub axle to the center of the BB, the FC and RC don't form a straight line. They form a slight "V" as they both dip down to the BB. Then you consult Pythagorus to get the exact difference in length. [Editor's note: This is wrong. See @kperras post below for full and correct explanation]

I do agree but I also like a removable battery so i can take it on my rack without being way over the weight limit - my insurance wont cover if the bike is overweight an the rack breaks.

It's 100% being shown in April/ May time frame. My dealer told me that I'd only be able to get one around August and even then in the highest build kits. It's also 170/ 180. I choose to order a new Wild with a Bosch CXR because it suits my needs fine, I'll have it in < 3 weeks, and the price was actually pretty bonkers (good). Also, apparently Bosch is going to match Avinox power levels soon but that's not something that I care about personally. Keeping an e-bike running long term is a real thing and Avinox right...

or the fact reliability was their biggest issue. - Yamaha(giant) motors were very similar in power and delivery but they didnt see reliability issues and those other brands using them havnt dropped them. I've had 4 replacement shimano motors, never again. Imagin having a shimano motor with xt di2 wireless, Holy Filing cabinet down stairs.
