Am I right in the assumption that this race in particular, that the riders knew the threat of cancellation-so most would have done a race run simulation...it's not the first time an elite athlete would be told there's a good chance the event wont happen, so "give er' in the quali, because that might stick"....that being said, I think we at least got legit results. Congrats Asa and Gracey!

The Mille negs are shit. Crashes all the time? This was her first broken bone. A clavicle. Amaury jacked his and was racing soon thereafter. I can’t think of any of the top female DH racers from last year that haven’t spent significant time off of the bike recovering. Tahne, Miriam, Camille, Anna, Marine, Jess, etc. Jackson skrewed himself up in ‘24, Ronan in ‘25. Don’t invite them back? ”Read the Room” is the operative phrase here.

What's funny is that in all my time as a mechanic, I have very rarely had people decline repairs after giving them the cost estimate, I honestly can't remember a specific time they've done that. The closest thing I can remember is people opting for less intensive services, like not having the damper in their fork serviced and bled but still getting the lowers done. It could just be our customer base is more willing to get the service done despite the cost, I'm not sure, but it's been surprising to me.

How is the mood in the team regarding Daprelas allegations and departure from other teams in recent seasons? do you feel comfortable having younger female racers around someone with SA accusations?

That's fair, but the GX axs build is 6900 for the allied and the current Tallboy is 7149 for almost the same build... Unless the 4 bar Tallboy comes with a price drop why on earth would I get it over the allied? Or over a Norco Fluid or transition smuggler? Just going the long way around to talk trash on the new tallboy SC has to do or say something to justify the change from VPP to Horst. There is too much competition in that space to just drop the bike and call it a day. Talk about the...

Shimano boasting about "Improving access to maintenance" while not offering spare parts for servicing their brakes or drivetrain is a quality c hutzpah.

What’s weird is this tiny little corner of the internet sort of proves its own argument regarding Sam Hill. He may be, results wise, past it; but there’s still plenty of fans who love him and are interested in who is (or isn’t) sponsoring him even if that is limited to 2 races a year and a few instagram photos. Trading on past performance rather than current social media savvy, yes, but a right he has imo 100% earned. There is going to be a point where the support tapers off and he gets forgotten but he’s not there yet...

Came to say the same thing. Sam is a legend, however he is pretty quiet on the socials, does the odd race, man of few words, isnt proactively chasing media and doing the moto life with his sons. Not really what a brand would be looking for in an ambassador.

I mean, kinda expected from a launch video. But reality is there's gonna be a full red bull helmet/rider podium in both elite categories this year at least once. Monster and WBD can't avoid that. 😂
