Got to ride my countershox today for the first time: There‘s definitely a noticeable change in how the front end rides and tracks, not comparable to anything I could achieve with suspension setup or something else. The front wheel is in contact with the ground a lot more times and it takes the harsh impact out of big compressions. Only did a couple runs but keen to try it more over full days when arm pump becomes an issue. I want to try to make a mount for the rear swingarm to try how it feels on the unsprung mass...

Agreed, it doesn't bother me. I meant more that all the brands using the motor on new bikes will hop on the launch hype whether their product is ready for sale or not, and it is most likely not.

Seriously, the transparent marketing just hurts. SC makes nice bikes, VPP is nice, long link four bars are nice, but the cognitive dissonance in marketing messages is fatiguing.

2 beer koozies on the tool roll in the frame quiets it all down and leaves your properly prepared for parking lot beers. Different horses for different courses—no one cares where you carry stuff until you're stranded, and then once again, it doesn't matter as long as you have it. The engineering to get carbon frames with the tool storage is huge and very impressive, so it is definitely not a 'cheap' attribute.

Releasing electric versions of the current sight is a no brainer.

Removing that large chunk of metal/carbon significantly weakens the frame, so it has to be reinforced around the opening.

Frame storage tech rumors and innovation… Decent majority of us have never had it, so it’s not a dealbreaker. How many bikes do you guys own? If I only had one, I could understand leaving tools and stuff in there. Reality is I’d rather have all my trail necessities in one pack and not spread around the quiver. Less tools and tubes to buy as well. 🤷‍♂️ I’ll concede being able to stuff a windbreaker in there would be pretty clutch, but I’m usually able to stuff it in the pack I use. Hmm, not sure why you assume I’m “not running proper equipment.” My bike is built for riding in legit terrain where shit can go sideways. Thankfully, it rarely ever does - exactly because I “run proper equipment” - but if/when shit does happen I want at least a fighting chance of riding my bike out of the woods. I’ll take the minimal weight penalty of some bits and pieces rather than hiking out.

Go look at inflation, high end bikes have always been expensive. In 2004, an SWorks Enduro was $4800. (Around $8500 today). In 2009, an SWorks Epic was $8800. (Approximately $13,000 today) I don’t understand why everyone suddenly thinks the sky is falling. Next everyone will be complaining that $250,000 for a Huraćan is insane because a Countach used to be $100,000. It’s not like you were going to buy one anyway.

Dang that bike looks rad. I love the versatility of the three pivot locations if it really is as easy as just swapping a bolt trailside. Having the option to go from say 135-160mm vs 165-190mm of travel would be neat, too. I'll have to bug Chris to see about getting a test bike in the coming months...

It may be a long shot but seeing companies/people experiment with steel chainstays, adding extra weight, or more flex to a frame (Danny Harts GT) it would really be cool if companies started advancing in steel/chromoly frames for bigger bikes and trail bikes. At this point theyre the same weight as a lot of carbon framed builds. With CNCing and 3D printing we could have some cool bikes. I was just day dreaming of a Delta link frame but made from steel. Raw too. 🤤
