The new Loam Gen 2 from PNW that we just reviewed uses a 26mm stanchion for the 30.9/31.6, and a 29mm stanchion for the 34.9.

I unintentionally ended up with 4 bikes with 30.9 seat tubes. So now I'm a 30.9 evangelist with only my emotions to support it... I like the idea of 34.9 because bigger must be better (right?) and all sizes fit with just a shim if necessary.

You might be thinking of 31.6. But then, Specialized, Norco, and I'm sure other brands use 34.9. Seatposts are one of the last areas of MTB standards that's just a total mess with no rhyme or reason for it. What really is the weight difference between a 30.9 and a 31.6 seat post lol we're talking .7 of mm difference.

Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

ya, strange one if true. PFR should have been rebranded BK Lifestyle Racing a long time ago, as it seems the primary reason Bernard runs that team is to fund his own preferred lifestyle. A guy who's so close to consistent top 10s like Maples needs better I feel.

yeah it's funny how as we age our interest change too. My whole youth was racing DH, Supercross and motocross. Golf and Baseball were far from interesting. Now I've had a couple of kids, a massive mortgage and half a head of grey hair my interest have shifted to the old man stuff, lawn care, golf, watching sport and drinking beer alone lol. Riding bikes will always remain, it's more the social aspect of it now. My appreciation for what people enjoy is broadened. My tolerance for dickheads and fake people has decreased. I am officially old.

Even as bike riders, we tend to have attitudes towards other forms of riding.. A lot of mountain bikers tend to scoff at the Tour, but as you start to understand the strategy aspect of it, especially towards the end of a stage, it becomes interesting. Of course, we've all had a roadie tell us how they don't want to fall off a cliff.. At the end of the day,all bikes are fun, but they are different types of fun..

I like bulldog, awesome rider and his comeback was inspiring. With that said, he has openly criticized multiple bike brands that he has ridden for. If I was a marketing manager for a bike company I would be reluctant to sign him with worries he would bash the bikes, calling them trash etc.

Man, I can’t see Dak going to Intense for a couple of reasons. 1) they’re broke (or seem to be) 2) when he last rode the bike, it could barely last a full run. Loic commented on this on a French pod, but those Intenses were trash.
