Aside from them taking over and gutting the core 5.10 MTB and Climbing product lines. But I guess injecting some of that trendy soccer shirt, tracksuit and 2" foam soled running shoe money into the sport could help a few riders.

Its because the sport is doing its best to ignore it or sweep under the rug - so any (i guess i have to say alleged) victims probably dont feel like they will be listened to or taken seriously - which only allows predators to think they can keep getting away with it. No one wants to rock the boat, but its really on the rest of the sport -ie the governing bodies and other athletes with a platform to stand up and make some noise about it

Does anyone want electronic gears on their dh bike? I feel like this is just sram repackaging existing components for the sake of streamlining production. Basically cost savings being fed to us as innovation without any real world benefits to the rider.

Other interesting bits: - Gunnar Franke from the YT Mob is now manager of the Yeti/Fox Factory Race Team - Greg Minnaar is on the rider list for NORCO X ADIDAS RACE DIVISION and not the management team. - YT RACING DEVELOPMENT continues as YT RD

Yeah I agree. I think it’s going to happen because that is the nature of racing. But I won’t like what it does to bikes. Compare a moto gp bike from 2005 to 2025. It is absolutely criminal what the FIM has allowed them to develop. The new bikes are an assault on the eyes.

Good question! ive been wanting to bring this up for a while - I feel like there is a lot to be concerned about with a number of large tech companies entering the biking market - if you look at the trends in other industries like lack of repairability and features being locked/disabled without a subscription. DJI is a prominent name but not the only one, I still wonder if there could be knock on effects with avinox even if they are "technically" a separate company, or at least slowly changing the operating model to being similar to drones and...

Aero will come. There is so much aero to be gained on a DH bike. Crying foul over the Fox speed suits is pretty silly, seeing how tight kits have gotten over the years. They just did it better than everyone else. Someone will probably think body armour is creating poor aero profiles under tight jerseys and start sculpting those too. I'm waiting for someone to find a way around the moto visor rule or try to reshape one in order to find some aero gain that is surely there. Style before tenths of a second! It's such a shame...

I met him once in North Bergen New Jersey at an ABA BMX National in 1982. He was the nicest guy to me a 16 year old Novice riding a Hutch Pro Racer frame and fork. Super professional, and signed autographs for me. It is an amazing career to be a high profile BMX pro to his mountain bike success, and continuing that success as a business owner in cycling today.

I think everybody cares about their logo being on a podium or on television, let's not fool ourselves. At the same time, some contracts finish every year and some brands bid more than others; it's business as usual. I bet Henri's situation is not the same with Vaea's and I also think there are always brands who want a piece of the exposure pie, regardless of the discipline. Speaking of eyewear, I think in the last couple of years Viris has been a pretty cool and interesting story, starting from a grassroots level and making it to the big dogs...

Oakley and Luxottica could not care less about gravity MTB. They will throw some cash and marketing at the XC athletes going to the LA Olympics, which is probably why they are cutting budgets now. But in general, they have not updated an MTB goggle in years and could really care less about MTB. Best thing for riders and fans to do is not buy Oakley. Although sadly their lenses are great for trail riding.

Looks like Endura is lettting people go amid rumor they are leaving Scotland. They have made a big push in the US the last few years as the bigger technical cycling apparel players (PI, Specialized, Rapha) have struggled or are pulling the pin on the category. Multiple long-serving Endura employees announce redundancies amid reports troubled cycling apparel brand is “leaving...
remove the valve, seat tire, apply sealant, put valve on, pump up tire. Never had an issue with presta with a quality pump. Got lots of freebie valves in the garage. I see no reason to pay to switch.

As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. EWS was not just Chis Ball, it was a run by a board, with Chis as the most public facing member of the organization. Keep in mind that in 2013 enduro racing was seen as an exciting new sport (yes I know, it wasn't new in France and Italy) and the timing was perfect with new wheel sizes...

EWS went from "World" series to "European bike park" series. There were only 6 rounds in 2025 and they were in France, Italy, Poland, Austria, Italy again, and France again. They wanted to do live coverage like DH instead of the 25 minute recap videos that came out on Monday. So instead of going to another continent and actually making it a WORLD series, they just went to places they could stream it easier. I remember when they were doing big 2 day races in Chile, and how sick the trails and racing looked in Blue Derby. UCI and WB...
