TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Does anyone actually believe T Type shifts under load better?

What do you mean by "better?" XTR uses fancy patented Hyperglide+ shift ramps because it's designed to shift fast under high loads. Transmission uses shift gates because it's designed to shift smoother under high loads. I currently have bikes with both hanging on my wall, and I think they both do exactly what they claim to do. If I had to loan one of my personal bikes out to a ham-fisted body builder with big thighs and no idea how to shift, I'd loan him the Transmission bike. Editor's note: it's worth mentioning the other side of that coin, where...

Not try sound elitist here (but I'm sure I'm going to)... as I've gotten older, I've started to focus on buying stuff once and buying it right. It means I pay more for stuff, but I'm more invested in it and I enjoy the process of identifying my specific needs and sourcing the product that fits that. That also gives me a chance to support brands that align with things that are important to me like: sustainability, trail/stewardship and conversation, brand identity etc. This is what has lead me to Ketl, Patagonia, etc instead of disposable, questionable supply chain and...

Rosmo Added a reply to Ridewrap vs. Dyedbro, VHS vs. SHUSH

Dyedbro refers to the 40% share holder in the present tense while Ridewrap is speaking in past tense. Typically in a privately held company the minority owner holds the right of first refusal if the majority owner is attempting to sell to a third party. Granted it depends on what’s in the shareholder agreement.

Reading the article on PB this is more interesting than what is being reported... According to DYEDBro there are 3 main points, with point 1 being: " 1) The co-owner of Dyedbro is also the co-owner of VHS. His partner at VHS attempted to sell the VHS assets out from under him without notice, consent or approval in violation of the VHS shareholder agreement and the law." If true then that does put a different light on this... Could be an interesting one to look into further, but I doubt we'd ever get to see either the shareholder agreement or...

It’s basically a friction clutch that is in place to stabilize to eliminate chain slap… Shimano calls it a chain stabilizer. Anyhow it’s a serviceable item, there are quite a few YouTube videos that walk through servicing. Essentially it is a bunch of roller bearings with a friction band and when the cutch is engaged it minimizes movement at the...

I’d be looking into this area… if you are on Shimano look into the clutch. Often neglected on the service side.

Those glory day keystone margins have been eroding lately… post COVID there was a big shift where in the Canadian market softgoods were in the 30% -40% range. There was typically a margin incentive on prebooked orders but typically those were based on hitting growth numbers to claw a few more points out of it. Some of that is because...

The knurled ring position was basically the exact problem. Along with going between “cage mode” and “setup mode”

Alright everybody, not trying to be some self righteous guy but I figured this advice could help. Here’s my lessons, after getting it pretty much dialed after thinking I completely fucked the dog. -make sure you follow the video step for step (as other smart people mentioned above) I basically skimmed it and thought it would be fine, it was not. Follow the video exactly. -definitely check the chain length on the app. I’m running 2 links short, and it was just dumb luck, u coulda cut it shorter on accident I just got lucky. I’m too used to winging...

Have you double checked the set up key position on the app? Maybe the issue is somewhere between the 2 links (1/2 inch) short and if that key position is incorrect. Did you set the knurled ring up against the stop prior to installing the derailleur?

Fair point, I guess I was trying to illustrate what the market for high end bike softgoods was. I think the retailers are a great indicator of where the market is or in my case was… Selling high end softgoods on features and benefits was a tough proposition, so many competing brands have a full line softgoods and they are...

As a former rep for one larger brands in the mtb space, outerwear over $225 CAD, shorts over $120 CAD were difficult to get any buy in from most shops. Top end styles bought by the larger shops often ended up on the markdown rack. Seeing these premium brands enter the market gives me the cold sweats. My time would...

I was just commenting on how it was fairly clear that WBD hadn't made a clear and targeted effort to delete the RB brand from WCs over the last 3 seasons. While I agree with some of your other points and disagree with others. The one thing that is clear is that many older MTBers or more seasoned WC fans want things that are somewhat mutually exclusive and/or contrary to what people claimed to want during the UCI/RBTV era. For example; Sport needs outside sponsors but also must remain totally "core". DH needs new venues and tracks - but when...

I don't think the point is valid at all. If WB were so keen to get rid of the "Red Bull Era" then they would have cut all ties from 2023 on. But instead they were happy to increase the RB branding and presence between 23 and 25. Red Bull media house (who broadcast the WC series before) and Red Bull the energy drink brand are not the same company. Connected yes, but not the same. So the branding deal from 2023 to 25, I imagine, was actually a new/different deal than anything before. Again showing that WB didn't have...

I would say just enough pressure for pad contact, not a death grip. I’ve only used this after exhausting all other methods, I have had great success performing the ol piston massage. I’ve also heard that hanging the bike front wheel up is another method but I’ve not tried that one myself
