You just adjust your technique. If you rode exclusively high pivots for a while, then hopped on a more traditional design, it would immediately feel very strange the other way too.

What he says about very high pivots is so true in my experience, I had the opportunity to try out a commencal supreme v4 the other week. The weight transfer when cornering happens faster than you can react, it's jarring and you feel like you're about to sail right over the top of the berm. It's no surprise that pivot heights have been getting lower recently when compared to that first wave of high pivot bikes.

What? Mud produces some of the best runs in the history of the sport! Sam's 2007 Champery run, Danny's run in 2011, Gwin's run at Mt Saint Anne in 2018, Recces's 2020 World Championship-winning run, Amaury's 2024 Les Gets run, Ronan's and Max's 2025 Les Gets runs were all fun to watch.

Goldstone yapping his way down the track filming his POV. Interesting little section at the 2 minute mark of his video. Course markers guiding people to the inside, but if you come too hot you’ll easily get a DQ. https://youtu.be/V0zMmRbjSXU?si=woUjon1tEtT6k9xb

Yeah, super tough season for him. Especially with how the first race went. After that race he was probably like, “ok I know what to do to make it into finals and possibly podium.” And then just gets put through the wringer at every other race. I do wonder if thing would have been different if they were still taking 60 finals. Would he have made more top ten finishes with one more shot at a race? Anywho, stoked for him. Total beast to rock up and take the W Last random thought. Wonder what he’s up to next year...

Pretty sure that’s for the logistical part of the team. Peaty is more the performance side and isnt booking flights etc.

I will be intereted to see how quick teams will be to drop riders if they have an off season once points no longer belong soley to the racers. Some teams will def stay pretty loyal to racers, but I can absolutely see some teams under presure being quicker to cut racers in order to replace with an up and coming racer.

Plenty of teams would happily drop a rider or two to make space for her with the current focus on team points. I'm sure Trek would be more than happy to take her back, seeing how their season is going.

So who do you think has the spare financial horsepower to take on Vali if the YT team folds due to YT being in a bit of bother?

Delivering the kind of journalism we need. Echoing the above statement, love seeing this comradery and likely shit talking each other's set ups. "Yours sounds like a bucket of bolts" "Well, yours sounds like a shopping cart and goes squish squish squish"

Clearly, but for those that do (SRAM, Fox, Yeti, and Shimano for example all have support rigs, and that is just off the top of my head). You would still need to ship two setups for popups as again, that stuff wont travel across a border in 3 days and setup. Logistically it is a complete mess. When I had to drive from Snowmass to MSA I basically threw the log book in the back seat and broke the law to make it in late. It isn't even the DOT regs. It is 48hrs of drive time... in 36hrs. My...

Except that Whistler is DH only, and lake placid is everything. that would bring the full rigs to lake placid if i was a marketing guy having to make the call.

Most teams don’t have their full setup in North American but rely on the local reps for support. At least as far as vehicles go. Tents can be easily shipped.

problem with this is no team vehicle can make it from Whistler to Lake Placid in that time period. ESPECIALLY if DOT regulated.... which the SRAM rigs for example are.
