Can you specify? I don’t know what intend does. But yeah I believe RS is making thousands of forks per day (a lot of volume comes from the lower end stuff you guys don’t think much about- eg Judy). Or at least was during the Covid peak. Tact time is a real issue. I’d worry about those rotating burnish tools scraping/burning material off the bushings. Fill the lower leg with bushing dust. The factory sizing method is different and that is what is tested and validated by engineering team. YMMV. One longevity trick is to wash your lowers when you...

With Fox poised to enter the inverted fork market, it seems like a good time to dig into some of the current options. Intend Edge: Air sprung, simple sealed damper (LSC and Reb only), 3 volume spacers to play with as well as Intend's version of a second positive air chamber (Travelizer). I have had this fork for over a year and know it quite well. It is currently in need of a full tear down, which gives some time to get familiar with the other one. PUSH 9.1: Coil sprung, more complex damper, and an air bottom out system...

Figure a lot of people here will find this interesting: Basically he reduces the master cylinder diameter from 10 to 8mm which significantly increases hydraulic advantage. Also the brake comparison website he shows is such a good resource: https://brakes.ddzyne.nl Not sure how no one's found it yet. I'm actually doing something kind of similar with a set of brakes currently. Picked up a set of sram db8 calipers for cheap and am running them with formula cura levers (coming from cura 2 calipers). This results in quite a bit less power because of the reduced hydraulic ratio (4.36 vs 5.22)...

I want to congratulate Vital and Lawlor on the best content to come out of round 1. I hope to see this continute with a rotating cast of riders at every round. By following the riders over the course of a weekend the story lines come to the front and you see the drama play out from the riders point of view. 👏🏼

It's funny because, spray paint the 'jump markers' pink or red, and none of this is an issue. Like if you wanna get rid of tape, for whatever reason, sure go for it. But if your replacement is... Well, dogshit. At least put in the lowest common denominator effort to make it easier on riders and viewers. If dangerous rocks are painted pink for visibility, 'jump markers' (if thats what they are) should also be painted pink and represent potential danger (aka, GAP!).

Except there was at least one other jump on the track where the B line and main lines were split by a pole. Having inconsistent course markings is a recipe for misinterpretation and ambiguity.

I've mentioned this worrying trend in depth in a few podcasts over the course of last year. From last year they have hindered the ability of many top 50/60 riders to garner any points in qualifying. Pretty soon very few riders (even much less than now) will be able to rightfully enter a World Cup without being on one of the World Series top teams or federation entries. With the switch to the points now staying with the teams and not the riders this year there will even less power of advantage and bargaining for top riders. (Note if teams...

I wasn't too sure where to post this so feel free to delete or move accordingly if it's in the wrong thread. Troy Brosnan's mechanic seems to be double taping the rim. Once with the Dt-Swiss rim tape and then a layer of Gorilla Tape over the top? What could the reasons be behind this? It looks like the DT tape is going from edge to edge so the Gorilla wouldn't be offering any additional adhesive. Is it a tape thickness thing? Never seen anyone double tape like that before.

Most 15mm axles are hollow aluminum. The easiest solutions to making them stiffer is to not hollow them out, and/or to make them from steel or titanium. I've not done the calculations ( @Primoz, didn't you do that?), but I imagine it could be as stiff as thin walled aluminum 20mm axles. If you look at huck to flat videos it seems that the worst of the flex is at or around the crown. The most productive solution for single crown forks might be to return to 100mm OLD - a 10% narrower CSU would be 10% stiffer.

Thanks everyone. Looks like Freaky Nuts doesn't do Ohlins so that doesn't work for me but still looks like a great solution. An A.170 with a DC fork is very nice.

i posted this in the race talk thread about the pedestrian what happens during cautions and red flags in other racing sports? competitive advantages are often lost by those out front. there was significant interference on the track. she deserves a re-run if she protested (which it sounds like she did). before the "pedestrian" she could have the run of her life at the bottom and earned another spot or two at the bottom earning 5 or 10 additional points. they all add up. if this was an olympic run, would there be a re-run? 100%. UCI claims to be...

i'm sure it did, but why race if the broadcast is going to potentially make the race unfair for all participants? in no way do i think this would be an easy thing to sort out, but just make re-runs completely impossible if they can't be consistently awarded for a significant disruption in the run.

I miss the five rider podiums. Also I think Hattie should have got a rerun. Its a no exceptions rule, every racer gets a clear course. If we start playing favorites why even have rules.
