Fine, I'll bite. So I own a Forbidden Dreadnought and I also own the cascade link for the dreadnought. It is a well made product that feels and look like a quality part. It fit perfectly, and with a bit of help from Pinner machine shop, it worked great with my EXT. So props to cascade for the great part. 10/10. Is this part still on my bike? No. Would I recommend it to other dreadnought owners? Probably not. I actually feel like the link made the first 2/3rds of my travel amazing, like seriously the best I've ever felt...

Having owned multiple bikes with Cascade links, they're far from a gimmick. They perform as advertised - changing suspension characteristics whether that be progression, leverage ratio, amount of travel or some combination of the above - not to mention quality machining and finish. From everything you've written, it sounds like it changed your bike as advertised. If you thought your bike had enough progression without the link, why buy a link that adds progression in the first place? The fact that you found it harsh is really out of Cascade's control. Do you typically like the feel of progressive suspension...

I'm usually not one to feed the trolls, but this has gotten silly. As far as cascade links go, I know people who have gotten legitimate performance out if them and changed the way they rode their bikes. I also know people who how gotten them because they want something shiney and cool and they had no business having that part on their bike because they didn't ride that hard. Some didn't even change their shock settings or remove any volume spacers and suddenly hated their bikes because they didn't understand what they were doing, how bike setup works or...

am i the only one thinking this bike is stupid af? it's probably like the bold, so the chainstay does not have holes forcing you to axs, stupid ugly plastic headset and spacer with the cable tourism, shock hidden in the frame, so you get what you get, and of course the stupid remote to do something with it as it's in the frame, so if you wanna customize this bike it's gonna be a ultra pain in the arse, if not impossible to do so, some of the worst bikes in the game

This is an awkwardly ironic Eurocentric take. Sure, us Yanks can too often be parochial, but this isn't that. "World Cup" DH is now just a 7-stop Euro Cup, and everyone knows it. No Asia, N or S America, Africa, Australia, Oceania. It sure feels like WBD knows the core market is Europe and is bailing on the rest of us to keep logistics easy and costs in check. Even the viewer packages are very Eurocentric. Everywhere else it's either non-existent or lumped into an overpriced package that isn't compelling at al. View live races? Europe only (*edit: due to...

I've had great experiences and I'd love to talk more about their links, leverage rate curves and trends in bike design etc etc. I've even had great experiences with their customer service and asking them stupid questions. That being said, I try not to feed trolls, so all of those conversations and experiences will have to wait for another day.

Crankworx must be loving this. Personally I think that any teams/riders that are on the fringe of qualifying should be considering doing more CX events. Comparing the YT numbers but given it’s finals vs semi finals the Crankworx views are quite a bit higher. If they were to add 2 more races they are only 1 behind World Cups. More global races, free on Red Bull tv with Rob and Elliot and bigger prize money. Isn’t that what everyone has been wanting?

I don't think people are hating on the coverage because it's trendy to do so. They (myself included) are hating on it because it's an objectively worse experience as a fan compared to the RB days. The commentary from Ric and Cedric is largely asinine. I realize there's a lot of time to fill, but was Ric paid per mention of the race venue? How many times did Cedric say, "he's not stopping the bike!" when someone was going well. Uh, okay, well it is a DH race, stopping the bike is antithetical to winning. Aaron Gwin was the only...

This is such a good question, and I would add to it: Does anyone actually think this looks better? Because the integrated stem LOOKS SO WEIRD to my eyes. It looks like the monster from The Goonies. [Edit: A friend pointed out to me that "The Goonies didn’t have a monster. It had Sloth, who was a normal person who was severely beaten when he was a child. It’s really sad actually." Agreed. You could say the real monster in the Goonies is inside of the people, and everyone has the choice to be brave or become a monster. I...

PM see PM do is my short answer and we can probably just blame Scott and call it a day. While not purely aesthetic I do think the primary driver is how good integrated systems look from concept to final product. It’s hard to deny that the path of continued integration results in cohesive product design that has visual appeal to a wide range of potential customers. From a brand prospective this is a pro that really doesn’t impact the core user who ends up changing out all of the touch points immediately based on hard earned personal preference regardless...

Serious question. We know Trek has run them for a while and Unno has them, too. Maybe there are other brands? And they always come on really high-end bikes (since they're carbon and expensive?). Is it because someone spending $10-12k on an e-bike doesn't mind spending another $300 on a new bar and stem? Is it for photos on popular mechanics or men's journal to make modern bikes look as sexy as an f1 car? Is it cheaper/easier to make and assemble than two-piece options, maximizing profits? It's a really mind-blowing piece of spec to me considering how picky many...
