4/7/2022 6:46am Yeah the Conti names are dumb. I'm also wondering if they're going to make trail / ultra soft available. There's no sharp rocks here, so I run EXO+ with light inserts for sidewall support. I've tried that back to back compared to heavier casing, and the inserts + light casing feels better. And MaxxGrip makes a huge difference on hardpack...

Loic and Finn running the new Cannibal tile in the final tune-up event before the world cup. Big news if they make the jump back to Specialized tires from Maxxis. Regarding the Cannibal, Gwin had said the Butcher was one of the best cornering tires but lacked braking power vs. DHR2. This new tread is DHF/Butcher with an added DHR2 braking block. Interesting feature is that the side knobs are staggered. Unlike their other treads. It also has the Minion hooked side knobs--probably to satisfy Finn. Adds braking power while cornering.

3/8/2022 3:10pm Why oh why are Transition using the crap Acros headsets. The amount of times I've worked on a bike (ex bike shop mechanic) with internal routing and found a rusted BB due to water ingress is laughable.

3/8/2022 3:10pm Looking forward to the day when mountain bike companies admit running cables through the headset bearings was laughably stupid and go back to cable routing that doesn't lock customers into proprietary headsets and higher maintenance costs. But unfortunately we probably have a rough few years ahead of us as companies try to push this bullshit. I thought Transition was better than that.

3/5/2022 7:53pm No more ENVE it would appear. Makes sense to me that they are opting for a different wheel manufacturer after the front wheel failure in West Virgina.

2/12/2022 7:00am No inside info, but I'd be surprised if they don't make the new Megatower available as either 29 or MX (but not convertible back and forth), like the V10 and Heckler. There's a lot of racers who prefer MX, even riding size L or XL, and this is their enduro race bike.

2/9/2022 6:57am The SB-150 and -130 are due to be updated this year. Maybe they're waiting to release those with video/photo of her riding them?

2/3/2022 1:17pm The milling pattern on the upper link looks quite a bit different than the Cascade Enduro link. I'd expect Cascade wouldd use a similar design since they're both the Spec 6-bar layout. I think it's more likely that it's Spec trying things out for a new Kinevo (non-SL). Plus it doesn't explain the prototype wireless dropper. Cascade wouldn't be running...

2/1/2022 11:12am I think it's a Float X based on the blue compression adjuster. Although I can't see the rebound knob, which is normally on this side, just below the compression adjuster.

2/1/2022 10:59am That's a new AXS Reverb too. The collar is different (not big chonky silver thing) and the battery part at the back under the saddle looks different.

1/27/2022 9:05am Yeah, I'm definitely more interested in TRP knowing a few high level riders have chosen them when they had options from S/S. Like, Neko is running TRP brakes but SRAM drivetrain, and basically said that he was choosing his favorite components, rather than what offered him the best deal.

1/14/2022 11:32am I don't think he was talking shit, I think it's more likely there's something funny going on with the kinematics of the prototypes. In one of the interviews (maybe Vital?), he said as soon as he got on his new bike, it instantly felt much smoother in the rough. I'm sure he didn't like the Kenda tires as well, but...

1/12/2022 8:35am Or maybe it's different tires? Although since he covered the front hub, wheels probably make more sense.

1/11/2022 11:55am That would be my guess too. Especially the "half the bike" part - just the back half.

1/11/2022 11:54am When I picked up my Smash at the HQ back in Sept. I was chatting with Dustin for a bit and he indicated that they'd been working on Revved seat/chain stays for the other models. So maybe Smash, Mega Trail, Gnarvana are finally going full revved like the Trailpistol?

1/7/2022 2:28pm Man, I'd love it if it's got better edging / less round than the Butcher. I can get great deals on Spec stuff, but just don't like the Butcher up front. The new rubber is great though, and Eliminator is a good fast rear tire (in between Dissector and DHR).
