It really depends on the linkage that they use, and how they try to preserve the kinematics. A lot of the time that is how it is done, since it reduces the number of parts that they need to make. You already need to make 4 different front triangles for an S-XL size run, why make 4 different size rear triangles or 4 different size chainstays and seatstays? Keeps inventory organization easier, fewer skus etc and is just practical. You can also keep the kinematics more or less the same between sizes, since all the moving parts of the linkage...

Trying to take bike design/fit cues from pros is generally madness. I trust that Max Verstappen has clear ideas on how he wants his car to feel, but I'm not going to take those principles and try to apply them to mine, even if it's faster in an absolute sense. After watching La Thuille, I was thinking Jackson’s bike is very active and he is very active laterally. But he may not be as active as others fore and aft, which makes sense to me. He also looks crazy slow compared to how fast he is going. I would attribute this to his relaxed stance and hovering over everything.

Also regarding EDR riders sizing down. These guys are getting longer CS's relative to the WB and stack is roughly the same. Yes the WB is shorter, but the balance is better.

People are asking for size L and XL to have the same proportions as size M. Ignore the total WB length number, there is no too long, and scale up the CS and stack to match the same proportion when increasing reach.

I just don't want to be spread out over a bike. The more leaned over I am, the more pressure it puts on my hands and the less control I have over the bike's movement. I shouldn't be experiencing something completely different just because of my height. I should be getting the same experience on my size L bike as someone who fits a size S. Reach changes too much between sizes in proportion to stack height, and rear centre lengths don't change enough. Tim at Esker here. You are correct sir, it's not us. The only thing I can say is that every guess in this whole thread is flat out wrong.

If designed to the same max load, a 35 mm bar is approximately 10% stiffer. The required cross sectional area of the 35 mm bar is also smaller, so it would be lighter. Below is an example where the bar is evaluated as a basic cantilevered beam where the length is 400 mm and the load is 450 N. r1 and r2 correspond to the 35 mm bar and r3 and r4 correspond to the 31.8 mm bar.

in America, do you guys have the same issues we have with youths on those throttle only fat wheeled ebikes? Down my part of the world (Southern Sydney) it's rife with entitled kids on these things riding down the middle of the road (usually the wrong way) no helmet, 2 up with virtually zero riding skills and no traffic sense (too young for a licence) there has been a few fatalities recently. I love the fact kids are off screens and outdoors, I'm more stoked they are on bikes but playing chicken with cars is never going to end well...
