There is a local dude here who uses a stem mounted wahoo, couple of GPS watches and an iphone and records them all on strava, each will have discrepancies which will ultimately give him one device with a best time (usually the phone) There was a rumor that on one trail, there is a tricky chute/corner at the end, he literally took the wahoo off and threw the thing to the end of the segment to skip the feature lol

I much preferred it when he dunked on the big V and encouraged people to imolate themselves rather than talking actual sense.

I currently try 60mm +6 stem, 60mil rise bar and 30 mil spacers. Its getting better and better but I still have 3cm to go to unsaggeg saddleheight. I tried da stem extension the other day... looks absurd and wont be safe for mtb riding but boy, with the bar on seat height I could actually comfortably unweight the front.... I also feel the more upright position is more efficient for me, because my hip angle opens up.

A list of various features that would have me thinking about a new bike… -ebike motor with combined gearbox with absolutely no dangly tensioners or other fiddly bits, just a true single speed style set up. -brakes that actually worked, I’m talking absolute consistency under every condition, the brake feels the same every time I pull the lever. No more thin, flimsy rotors that are always warped and discolored. I personally consider nearly every current mountain bike brake to be at best, one step above a liability. -proportional chain stays, and none of this “2mm longer per size” business. Chain...

Seat height for tall riders often comes quite far above the top of the headset which means the actual seat tube angle affects the effective cockpit length and body position. The advertised seat tube angle used to be 3+ degrees off the effective seat tube angle at seat height. For medium-large riders the seat height is much closer to the top of the headset and thus the advertised effective and the resulting seat tube angle are very close to each other.

This is all fine and dandy, but they are riding the same length chainstays? I know not everyone needs (or likes or wants) 462mm rear centers, but also many of us are done with 430 too…..and for pivot specifically, I friggin loved my pivots but stopped even considering then once I found a 450 to fit me so well, and then to discover that rear center length was something I was tuned into with my riding

I’m calling BS on their being a issue with Loic and Finn… Finn has said in many interviews that he wants to win, that’s his goal and he believes he can do it, and he’s also said if it’s not him winning he would want his team mates winning. when Loic came down after his run and was clearly frustrated how things went…. Finn was first over there to support him. Specialized looks to the best program in the pits.. he’s got has got a bike that clearly works….. why would he leave? He would need to get used to...

At the risk of being downvoted his form this season is poor with plenty of younger riders and privateers more focused, driven and having a better attitude to training, racing, etc Dean is siting way back in 83 position in the World Cup Series this year. Hasn't qualified for any of the finals, only qualified for 2 semis this season and he wasn't selected for the Australian World Champs Team due to poor form/attitude. The UCI rankings only use the results in the last 12 months and currently he has no UCI points as his performance in the last 12...

It was a first year Elite from the USA, Bodie Heflin. See Rooted MTB's post halfway down this page: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/hub/free-live-racing-race-talk-loudenvi… Utter bullshit that they can move a schedule forward and just expect everyone to already be on site ready to practice despite being before the scheduled track walk. I guess I'm not too surprised after listening to Chris Ball talk...
