As far as I can tell, technical assistance is not even addressed for DHI in the current UCI rulebook. Downhill starts on page 26. XC with the tech zone, and Enduro with the requirement to use the same frame, fork, wheels/5 min penalty to replace them. There is actually nothing about mechanicals or any kind of tech assistance during a DHI event probably because it makes no sense, you're going to lose anyway. Hattie did win the EDR Overall last year on a derailleur. I don't think her winning or not winning is something a person could pin on a drivetrain. She seems to be good on bikes. ...she also has won in XC, Cyclecross. I get the feeling she's just really damn fast on a bike a knows how to win.

I've tried to stay out of this one in general because I'm far from knowledgeable on the subject but here goes. Okay, so expressing doubt isn't claiming to know better. A few things to consider for those thinking Asa might be getting the short end of the stick. First, Neko is not going to take advantage of Asa; in fact I believe it's the opposite. He's looking out for his overall success, financially and between the tape. Those saying Asa doesn't know what he's doing or that a contract just appeared in a parking lot and he signed it w/o spending time on the details beforehand is insulting to Asa as well as Neko's motives. Second, I'd wager Asa is getting very fairly compensated. There may be some creative incentives...

The Vorsprung shock is somewhat similar to a CC Double Barrel in that they are both twin tube designs like Ohlins pioneered. The Telum has the most interesting design out of the bunch with a solid main piston and very unique means of adjusting the compression and rebound damping curves. It wins "showroom feel" as well, I have never felt a shock so supple and smooth. Perhaps a twin tube shootout with Cane Creek, Ohlins, Fox DHX2, and Telum? We're just getting started, big plans for the future. 👍

Looks like an interesting test for sure! I know there are tons of brands out there for suspension nowadays, so the options are pretty much endless... That said I was pretty blown away by the performance of a Cane Creek Double Barrel on my first downhill bike. They liscenced the tech from Ohlins, so maybe an Ohlins or Cane Creek test in the future could really make this a super thorough test of what's out there.

All the sponsorship posts from AON/Reece & Sleeper.co have been so dialed. Sure, they're trying to hype up their sponsors and 'sell' people on why they are choosing to run X product. But the short insta vids have been insightful without feeling forced. Shit, for a second I thought I might need some Rev Grips 😂 (disclaimer: I haven't ridden them, and probably should to form a worthwhile opinion. I'm sure they provide some advantages).
