This one's somewhat a team and a tech rumor I guess: Judging by Orbea's oolap post from today it looks like their DH bike is ready which would take one thing hindering them from starting a DH team off the table.

In his post-US Open Wyn TV interview, Lachie made sure to metion how well his Trek bike rides and carries speed. He must be signed by them by now...

As with every other free hub mechanism out there, if tolerances are right and material choice/quality suitable for the application, I think it's not very complicated at all, however their track record + general inclination towards weight saving in the worst places that is so prevalent in the whole industry... I'm little skeptical.

Couldn't agree more, so many people getting angry about misinformation and conjecture. World Cup racing has been in flux since it's inception. This is just the next change in a long line of changes. Seems to me that the main source of anger on the forums and comments sections is that it's no longer "free" to watch DH racing. But for those of use who have paid to watch the DH racing (especially the womens) has been some of the best ever. What I gather from this forum is that the World Cup should be free to enter for anyone...

I find the emphasis on social media presence worrying. Racing should be about who's fastest, not who gets the most likes.

But you can put on an event that people want to attend . Where does that FMD to YT rumor come from? They’ve never sponsored anything besides the mob and they have a huge new factory setup to support. With them being a relatively small brand and the current state of the market I don’t realy see them doing anything else. If anything another male elite rider would be a good fit for the mob.
