10/22/2024 2:10am Reece Wilson in new pinkbike video (advertorial), about belt driven bike prize money. No trek kit, just a lotus hat. I'd say it gives even more credibility to the Gamux team rumour. https://youtu.be/VZJfXHECfiY?si=XCAj0TI2IT8hl93p

10/22/2024 2:07am Should be mandatory that teams compete in minimum of three categories. Would be great for development to see all the big teams needing to take on a jr male or female.

10/21/2024 12:29pm I bought my dreadnought for exactly the same reason. Having not owned a downhill bike since 2017, I was curious to see if a dreadnought with a cascade link and a 190mm boxxer could achieve something similar. The answer is a resounding "yes". Sure, there will still be instances where there's no replacement for displacement but I think you'd have to be pushing extremely hard or sending it massive to find them. I was shocked at how much difference an extra 20mm up front made over a 170mm sc fork, the thing just eggs you on to charge a bit...

10/19/2024 2:33am I have the Ohlins dh but set up mullet. It’s super fun even on more mellow rides. I’ve read a review where they called the suspension “dead” or “too linear” but keep in mind they settled on the steepest and least progressive setting. (And 29”) Ride 4 is no joke. Not just geo. Ride characteristics are dramatically changed. Most “fun” bike I’ve ever ridden. Just make sure you have a trail bike to pair it with. lol.

10/19/2024 12:30am This is insane. So teams on the bubble have to wait for team registration to complete before figuring out if they qualify and if they are going WC racing? I generally like the changes but this last minute shit is straight up unprossional for an organization which is claiming to make the sport more professional.

10/17/2024 12:20pm This is basically why V&R Racing exists. To help cover the travel costs for junior (women) WC racers. (We kept Taylor Ostgaard on for an extra year in Elite cuz she's just so frickin awesome.) We'd love to expand and help more racers, but for now, we'll stay focused and try to fill the need. We'd love to see more sponsors like us helping fill this gap. We'll throw a little teaser out since this is the rumors thread - our next sponsored rider races for Gravity Collective.

10/17/2024 12:20pm The prospect that Gwin may not be racing at all WC is a huge bummer especially given how well he did at MSA.

10/17/2024 12:14pm Living in a country where we have to travel to ski/snowboard if I break it down to participation hours biking is way cheaper than winter sport holidays. I'd be budgeting £1000 per week for a trip to the Alps. I don't know about other countries, but neither I, nor the majority of my riding buddies are anywhere near what I would perceive as upper middle class, most of us are firmly working class and have the spending power of that level. Granted we are wealthy on a global scale, as are most people in the 1st world, but within the...

10/17/2024 12:13pm Yeah man, Colombia would be very very cool. But the organizational structure is LOOSE!! I went to the BMX World Champs in Medellin and on the morning of racing the gate fail and the track was falling apart, no one would do anything, so an Aussie guy fixed the gate & I was part of a team of kiwis who fixed the track so racing could start.... Oh and the grandstand was rebuilt the night before, as it was deemed too dangerous for people to sit on... Such a cool place and WC round in South America would be cool...

10/16/2024 8:02am I built my Slayer with a 200mm DH38 for the park but left the 12spd drivetrain and managed to squeeze a 240mm dropper on there. Was shocked at how well it actually still pedaled (~37lbs with coil shock, full cush core, ochain, heavy duty tires) and have been riding that 90% of the time, even in rides with decent amount of climbing (1200m vert and more). Might not be for everyone and their needs but it helps that the trails in my 'backyard' justify such a bike and it's been a blast as a primary driver.

10/16/2024 7:56am I've gone back and forth between owning a dedicated DH bike and long travel FR bikes over the years. I've netted out that I prefer just having a full DH bike in the quiver at all times; they just erase things in a way the shorter travel can't - especially over a multi-day bike park trip. However, when the Shore came out it seemed like it was the perfect solution for what I wanted, essentially a full DH bike with a pedal-able seat tube angle, so I picked one up and it's been awesome. I run mine with a 200mm...
