Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,

“In the UK”! 😉
Plus Cube are not big in the UK… even when Danny was riding for them. That and they’ve always been known to be on the low quality end of the spectrum so if you chose to deal with them then its fair to expect more basic issues.
Even then Swiss pricing is ridiculously high and cannot really be compared to anywhere else in Euroland.
And even then at PDI stage its not unwise to check motor mounts and linkages so optimising routing would often happen naturally.
But it's still not 10 times higher? Maybe twice as high as most other expensive European countries? I have no idea what the going rates are here in Slovenia, haven't been to a shop to service my bike in about 6 or 7 years...
no bike shop in the world gets even with just 15eur. and this is with all the big ones, if you lucky they have a fixef rate but no oem reimburses you your warranty cost completely, only partially
Anyone have info on whether there's coming an acoustic Vala? Seems like too good a success to leave to the electric platform
€15 isn’t their hourly rate. Just what they’ve assigned for this task. Which doesn’t take into account the time it takes you.
It’s the same in the automotive industry. Warranty labour rates are always less than actual labour we charge our customers.
GT Sensor.
Neuhaus Metalworks made a build and ride impressions video for a rigid 32" prototype:
With built in crumple zone!
His content is a mix of cringe and informative. This was pretty good and I am even more sold on 32 now.
(Only gripe with this vid was the way he was saying “to get more grip you add more knobs to the tire” when in reality the more knobs you add the smaller the knobs get, so fast tires tend to have lots of little knobs and slow tires tend to have fewer, bigger knobs. I could see how he could easily mix up “knobbier” and “more knobs” but still, when people want to be a source of knowledge for cycling my expectation goes up.)
I just watched this on my lunch break and came to post it. Super cool build.
Yeah, they call it Bronson.
hence my comedian comment
What’s with the DT Swiss Fr 571 rim.

any infos on that ?
It was discussed a few pages back: https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub,2/2020-MTB-Tech-rumors-and-inno…
thanks. didn't find any conclusion on the "new" rim
Anyone know when it's coming to the US? Pretty keen to get my hands on one, just blew up my FR541
Anyone have experience with the Chromag BA30 rim? I did a deep dive on the toughest aluminum rims and that one came up in a lot of recommendations. I haven't tried it, but I'm always interested about sturdy alloy wheels. I'm not nice to rear wheels.
just buy any of the many horst (crab)-link bikes!
Only alloy rim I would buy. Chromag wheels I've built for people get some of the best feedback.
Why bother with it ? Seems like the only thing DT are doing here is adding weight . Not sure the only solution to a strong rim is making it 700g +- !!
Toughest rim I experienced is the Duke racing Fury Star HD . Very strong and doesnt dent easily .
Also know happy riders with the Chromag and Tairin rim,

Not "new" as the idea has floated around for a while, although often getting dismissed as a pointless gimmick for wealthy german retirees riding 10k bikes on bike paths.
Now T-Mo has raced it and won* at Ard Rock Enduro.
*she was in a fairly small category but as far as I can tell from the terribly organised results, she had the fastest female time of anyone doing the full 7 stages, E or non E.
I’ve had good luck with my Chromag 27.5 rims and R4 hub. New England tech riding, so more natural slower speed stuff with a big variety of wheel killing stuff just waiting for me.
Lasted much longer than my other stuff has, including Specialized, DT Swiss, Crankbrothers, Stan’s and Giant.
Running them on my Chromag Stylus with a closeout Z1 coil fork and an old 11 speed XT drivetrain from who knows when. It’s the one bike I don’t really worry about, it’s always ready to go.
As a Neuhaus frame owner, I love what they're doing. I previously had little interest in a 32" bike, but after watching the video, a 32" rigid single speed sounds fun and would probably be a blast on my local trails.
this was brought to my attention and I had to share it here. I try to keep an open mind but…

Tried the Bosch ABS out at Eurobike last year, was very impressed. I could see it being an advantage for racing, allowing you to brake harder and later.
Gonna go throw my premium threaded-rod-with-washers/nuts headset installation tool into my steerer. Free stiffness!
So it squeezes the “headtube” off the fork to stiffen it? Assuming this actually does anything to stiffen the steel steerer tube, would this not just transmit more forces to the CSU and lead to creaks/failures?
It fits in the headtube of your fork, so it increases the stiffness 🙏
Looks a lot like the Azonic Headlock, a headset preloading product from 20+ years ago.
