brochmann Added a reply to All Things Vital Downhill Fantasy
10/12/2025 2:09am Big ups to sspomer and the rest of the vital crew and sponsors for this round. Has been super fun. A thing I was thinking about was some kind of silly season fantasy. A bit late now when team changes are already starting to be announced but could be fun for next year. Maybe some format similar to polymarket could...

brochmann Added a reply to Feedback Wanted: Strava-Like Racing App
8/14/2025 7:51am In regards to flying starts vs standing starts, maybe you could do kind of an arming feature where you position yourself on the start, press a "ready" button and then the clock starts when you start moving. Again could be challenging with GPS jitter but removes the very annoying case where you accidentally rest inside the Strava segment before starting...

8/5/2025 8:15am Anyone have info on whether there's coming an acoustic Vala? Seems like too good a success to leave to the electric platform
brochmann Added a reply to Pumping feature on e-bike?
8/1/2025 4:14am Lol. I imagine seeing someone just wildly pumping down the street instead of pedaling. Other than that I think it could be a pretty distracting feature, sometimes I think I'm not necessarily pumping for speed but for traction and in that case the back wheel getting going could be annoying. Interesting idea though.

7/28/2025 8:15am A while ago I had an unlucky streak of breaking two Spesh Enduro frames (both headset area). After the second break I was offered a Stumpy Evo replacement frame instead which I gladly accepted. When building it up I noticed the frame came with an extra linkage. "Sweet" I thought as I assumed that the extra one was for mulleting...

7/25/2025 5:32am What a cute water bottle. I think you should have waited until YT's out of administration before publishing, or at the very least not given it a score and rating until then. But maybe I'm naïve.

brochmann Added a reply to Silent Bikes - What tricks do you have to keep your bike quiet through the season?
7/11/2025 11:30pm I recommend you watch Colin’s vid as he explains it there, but basically on a normal b-tension system you set the distance via a screw so that the derailleur cannot move closer to the cassette than you want. However, it’s still free to move away from the cassette, creating noise and makes shifting messier. The hall lock simply locks the...
brochmann Added a reply to Silent Bikes - What tricks do you have to keep your bike quiet through the season?
7/11/2025 2:02pm Tried the hall lock today. So much better. Shifting improved too, i guess because the horrible sloppiness in the GX bolt assembly went away. I filed down the B tension spacer from an old derailleur and used it instead of a shock hardware spacer. A little less thread overlap but the bolt head sits into it really nicely and feels...

7/11/2025 1:44pm this is my favorite topic hehe... heres my top 5. IYKYK #1 Derailleur Lockout - I made a video a while back on the "hall lock mod" no more b-tension slop, absolutely guarantee this makes your drivetrain last longer too. NEWER SRAM DERAILLEURS (mech/axs) NEED NO PARTS, just need to file down the aluminum spacer to 14.05-14.1mm. this one is #1 because it solves so many problems at once. chain dropping, cable suck (when suspension moves; cable is pulled through internal routing- mainly on santa cruz's) chainring wear, loss of confidence sprinting after a rough section etc... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IChC4h8WDkA see comments...

7/11/2025 10:56am Could still be pretty interesting... Maximize the points with juniors and go for some wild picks in elites or just bring in a couple hundred points as a cheap bonus and go pretty much as normal. In total 795 points are awarded to juniors and with some finesse you could pretty easily pick up 500 points and still have some...

7/6/2025 10:21am I dont gett it. Do really so many people have extra subscriptions to look at the races? I will happily look at the timing sheets and wwarch the higlights. I will not see many riders and so not many sponsors. It's probably the effect of hiding behind the paywall. Dislike if you habe a subscription, like if you dont.

7/2/2025 1:10pm On the Downtime Pre race pod, Killmurray said he expects to see "carpets of roots" instead of Val di Sole style chunky roots because of the kinds of trees there (larches maybe?).
