Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Honestly it's a big W for Kenda if the other website considers them on par with the competition.
take the tire talk somewhere else!

That I am not sure of. But I know one of the reasons she went with YT was that she could keep running Rockshox stuff. I dont know exactly how it works, but it does seem like certain riders have an exclusivity contract with SRAM, Valli being one of them, and I thought Moir did as well (Schurter probably does also?). But apparently not.
If they get paid to run it I have no idea, but chances are Valli probably gets something for it. Granted they do a lot of testing for/with SRAM and help them develop tunes and changes.
Some YT bikes come specced with TRP brakes now also (As well as hayes) - So not sure if its some kind of oem+race team deal. Jack said he had more info coming on it in a few days. Him just changing for the heck of it I will never believe, so I hope he tells us the real reason.
There is no way Jack chose to run Fox/TRP, has to be a forced move. Especially this late before the season. Will be interested to hear the reasoning.
Vali is definitely being paid by SRAM/Rockshox. Everyone at the top is being paid to ride what they're riding. That said, she probably wouldn't of switche to fox for the 2025 unless they ponied up massive cash. Which they were not about to do with their money woes. Vali helped develop the Boxxer so it's totally dialed in for her. She likely signed a 2-3 year deal with SRAM to stay on their stuff when she switched to YT last year.
And he did alright in the two races they've had so far, so the new parts can't be holding him back too much!
Edited to remove the result spoiler, just in case.
Bro, cannonball is a Pissup that happens to have some bike racing lol.

Kiwi mountainbike world champ breaks neck, back in horror high-speed crash | Stuff.co.nz
Another crash report.
Has anybody seen heard anything from Ronin? I know he said it was just a few bruises on his IG, but has been pretty quite since. Anybody seen him walking about?
Kye A'Hern's crash at crankwork whistler last year UR posted it was minor, then came out it was a broken back or something similar. Wonder If Ronin is stayin quite due to sponsored related issues?
Ronin had a picture of him on a flight with a box of Oxycodin on his table. Probably not a great time.
Latest OTB podcast with Wyn . Still with GT and Dom Platt on the privateer programme.
They also mention Ronan saying there is a rumour he's done something to his pelvis . Hopefully nothing major 🤞
He was asked about his early days on Fox and said it's going fine, no comment on the brakes but he's still ripping it up. I know we all get used to our setups but how challenging is it for pros to get acclimatized? I am a consistent Shimano brake user (as is my bite point) but have hopped on some bikes with different brakes, and as long as the lever angle and reach adjust are how I like it I feel pretty comfortable after a lap.
Also, in his latest video of DH training his Tues still has a Boxxer and Sram brakes, however, Sian A'Hern (another YT mobber) was on a Tues with Fox 40 and TRP.
Some people are way too wound up in here.. You all have bad riding weather?
Usually I'd ride after work, but it's too dark, and I've been busy on weekends. I'm not half as grumpy as this, it's gotta be something else lol
We got like 6" of rain this week
2025 Weather Rumors
We just got hit pretty good too.. However, our soil is pretty sandy, so potentially some good riding this weekend..
Gonna be a moto weekend round here.
aon racing gets to roll in tourne campervans
Theyre running a bunch of cool s$%t. It'll be nice to finally see the manitou/hayes/sunringle group get rewarded for building really good stuff . Looks $$$ on that frame
We got -40c temps all week, not fun
You sure it wasn't -40°F?
Bout the same thing.
🙄
Thank you, Rainier Wolfcastle.
All the sponsorship posts from AON/Reece & Sleeper.co have been so dialed. Sure, they're trying to hype up their sponsors and 'sell' people on why they are choosing to run X product. But the short insta vids have been insightful without feeling forced. Shit, for a second I thought I might need some Rev Grips 😂 (disclaimer: I haven't ridden them, and probably should to form a worthwhile opinion. I'm sure they provide some advantages).
No yeah for sure the posts have worked better than just about any other sponsor announcement. I also found myself considering Rev Grips for the first time in years...
Especially because I built a fully-rigid late last year and am obsessed with it 😅
I have RevGrips for my trips to the Alps. They are very good. Despite trying other grips for the alps I almost always revert to the RevGrips after 2 days or so. Anymore questions - message me. Let’s not derail Race rumours.
I’m sure I heard Jacks going to cover the switch in a video this/next week..
