Wonder if that snap has anything to do with the Pivot having a flex stay. It's not a "true dw6" like the Atherton A series bikes - they cut one of the pivots out in favor for a flex stay.
I watched the Jack Moir video earlier today, and IIRC bernard was riding later on in the vid as well in the later features. So if the video is filmed from top>bottom, he was riding a spare already.
That part of frames is also very often in the ''hit zone'' of over enthusiastic baggage handlers.
Long interconti flights + multiple baggage handlers + cardboard box could've easily taken a hit during travels that might not be easily spotted when unpacking but gave way under riding.

I am always staggered by the amount that of pro riders that still insist on using cardboard bike boxes.
Common an Evoc (other brands are available) isn’t thta expensive in the long run, especially with the number of flights they take each year

"Lots of people liked this, lets use that color and the saddle"
Maybe my memory stopped working but anyone knows why the switch to Alu bonded frame for the DH ? What is the rationale behind it ?
Just a secondary model. Less expensive, CNC instead of printed lugs. They have been marketing more as a park bike than race bike. Also has DW4 suspension, rather than DW6 on race(Ti/carbon) frame.
Its some form or air+coil shock they are working on.
It was on an Alutech bike at the Craft Bike Days show back in november as well - I have a bunch of screenshots from it. But intend hasnt released any info other than its not being released any time soon (said a few months ago)
They also have an airshock without the dual chambers in the works, so probably a twin tube design, for bikes that cant fit their normal Hover. Not sure if its something that we'll ever see - But this is one of the few pics I know of it:
Seems like he actually just lowered the volume to the minium, because there is sound for me in that clip, had to raise it to 100% but. Doesnt sound very good
That’s a bold strategy Cotton, let’s see if it pays off.
So one reason why I'm hesistant to share breakages of bikes online is that stuff sticks around forever.....I worked for a Yeti dealer at that time when the "pre production" frames had thin chainstays which cracked very easily. But it was just that very small number of initial bikes, I think we sold 2 SB6's from the batch and yeah they broke but the dozens that followed were fine in that regard (not perfrect bikes but the chainstays were actually fixed). But that reputation definitely stuck with Yeti which is a shame since it was such a small number of bikes, as opposed to a brand that has repeated similar failures
With the pivot - I'm no fan of armchair engineering but I looked up the spec and they claim 35 pounds for the complete bike?! There is a crazy amount of extra hardware so theres not much left for the frame tubes 😬 I don't get why companies still insist on cutting out so much weight from their bikes! It's a completely different manufacturing process to the prototypes so why wouldn't they beef it up just to be safe?

I worked at a dealer during that time too and it was absolutely as bad as the internet thought it was.
I don’t buy the “pre-production” excuse. They all exploded, pretty much every SB5c and SB6c we sold. Front end, rear end, they all broke. At one point we had two bike boxes full of dead triangles.

side question...what is this balfa-esque frame are we looking at here?!
Yeah the shock looks like its barely compressed past sag too

Clearly it's an early 2000's Demo 8
Theo: "We had a great morning Bernie, cracking lunch" 🤣
You trying to give me washers/shims/sticky grease/use a ball point pen flashbacks? 🙃
I'm guessing the audio cutting out on BK's video as he hits that drop is no mistake.
New coil shock by Intend? 🤤

If the saddle is too low on that Bronco "bike" you may destroy your knees, unless it accelerates with a trigger and you just sit passively on it.

It's not a switch, it's an addition and IIRC they're supposed to be a bit less expensive...
Thats neat but who makes the frame? Im intrigued

Pretty neat stuff. Steel FS look but composite build.

Heard the rear triangle is very very weak on this bike hence the insane light weight of the frame. Hope it holds up
Thanks all for the head's up ! Missed the info for sure
P.S: Love being downvoted for asking a simple question 😅
Can't wait for Pivots next HQ video about why the bike failed and them trying to claw back the customers

Re BK's bike. Look at the angle of the rear wheel as he lands.

And the audio is muted on his POV clip in his video when he hits the drop: https://youtu.be/smvc8h3F47Q?si=EsZcoCKF79KcXaHy&t=1098
Use google next time.
re: bernard's wheel at such a peculiar angle - we have a thread about that 😬

Ahh, the 2015 Yeti approach.

apparently some guy mated a new front triangle to a balfa bb7 rear. pretty cool! (image found on fb):
