Any new rumor's on Greg Williamson? seen hes back with Whiteley but no team yet? could just throw some names out for the hell of it like Atherton or Pivot . 300 points isn't shifting those teams up enough
Could be a loaner, could be a friends..coulda got a deal secondhand or a deal through Sram. Or maybe he just knows it's one of the fastest, most comfortable road bikes out there and he loves how it rides?
He's still in contact with commencal btw
I think this is only partially correct. They allow racers to film their race runs, but they own the footage and have first rights to use it. BK's issue was, that he does not get paid for his work as camera man and would have to run a GoPro (sponsor of the WC series), which would not allow him to make other sponsor agreements that earn him money.
For example Santa Cruz Syndicate riders are running helmet cameras during their race runs and often publish the footage a couple of days after the race, so they are apparently cool with the agreement.
That's a better explanation.
Thanks
Maybe it's a test mule and Commencal is testing the competition before getting into the road bike market. This is a Rumors thread after all.
Could also be that a shop he’s friendly with sells Specialized and hooked him up.
So who still hasn't been announced?
Riders:
Vero Widmann
Camille Balanche
Gregg Williamson
Brooke McDonald
Teams:
Atherton
Yeti
Pivot
Anyone else?
Tomorrow marks 1 week after the team sign up deadline. 2 more to go.
(From Pinkbike list)
Elise Empey - 340
Luke Wayman - 314
Henri Kiefer - 227
Remy Meier-Smith - 203
Also - Connor Fearon?
Rachel Atherton return to racing?
Camille Balanche commented on the Vergier signing story on the other site that we'll know where she's going in the next couple of days.
That could be interesting.. Seems to be a bit of a resurgence in alloy road frames as of late..
Rach posted on Insta that she was at a Redbull facility training and that her brain instantly switched into "I want to race". It was pretty interesting and it sure sounded like she is considering it. With the new AM.200 G she could be the one to grab the $100K.

Not sure how many 200G test mules Atherton has but Rach has been posting about riding on a normal A200. If she was thinking about coming back, and chasing the $100K I would think they would have a 200G under her.
Most of the riders that ride for a MTB only company ride whatever road bikes they can get their hands on cheap and have for years. It's not a conflict of interest for the company they ride for and they have done to openly. Not a new thing.
The way they build bikes, they could literally have her a frame printed and bonded etc. in a couple of days.
if/when she does race again, she’s not gonna be on anything other than a belt driven gearbox bike.
If she didn't, that would be a hugely declarative statement about the viability of gearbox bikes. it'd be tantamount to flat out stating "i don't think i can be competitive on this bike, specifically because of the gearbox."
Confirmed now
While true, this answer isn't very fun.
Plus a Rainbow jersey, won in Les Gets!
Fearon back on the tools in Aus as a tradey (electrician I think) at a guess I'm thinking still with Forbidden but just doing hardline/crankworks/whatever he wants. It's a sweet gig I reckon.
Been a sparky in Aus can make you Loic dollars for a 40hour week.
Dude just probably got a hookup from a guy who works for the big S. Without looking at his contract, Amaury isn't leaving Commencal for another few years at least. If Commencal ever puts out a road bike, you'll see him on it.
Two hard pills to swallow.
Gwin really played all the wrong hands as it seems. I hope he leave whatever he's been up to and find a spot where he can finish on his own terms. He's one of the true greats and he deserves so much more.
Ratboy. It's over before it even started.
Teagan Heap
Very skilled US junior female who is off Pivot and may not have a ride.
How so? He owns an amazing bike park, has a path to own a third of a bike company, is on a route to recovery (12th last year at MSA), and most definitely can race DH world cups if he wants to this year. Or are you trying telling me between the 5 season long team wildcards, 8 per race team wildcards, and 3 per race US cycling federation names, that there is no place for a 20 time DH World Cup winner that is still in form?
This week on team rumors: IS AMAURY CHEATING ON MAX WITH THE BIG "S"? SHOULD PIVOT HR TALK TO BK? IS KATE COURTNEY'S NEW TRUCK RELIABLE?
Now that I have your attention, do we think the other teams would even bother with the belt drive if they knew Rach was possibly returning aboard that Atherton belt drive prototype this season? I know the elite women's field has changed a lot since she was last in the mix. That said, I honestly think Rachel could win pushing a '99 Uzzi this season if that was her ride.
I do have an actual team rumor for a change:
Mona Mitterwallner who reportedly signed to a women's road raceteam has stated in an interview in an austrian bike mag that she will not only keep racing xc wc (that has been revealed already) but actually is going to race for a dedicated mtb team as well.
I find this really interesting as I can't remember that any biking athlete rode for 2 teams at the same time competitively. She also made bold claims regarding the tour the femes and Vuelta I think, so she really means business. I'm more of a Stigger fan myself but given Mona's young age and success on the WC stage already, that's quite a big deal.
She also mentioned the new brand having a trademark top tube and doesn't build road bikes. I thought Corratec at first but they have a roadbike lineup. So any educated guesses?
Gwin will absolutely get a race entry if he wants one. He has a safe domestic race scene, a good relationship with WB appearing behind the mic for them, and is the closest thing we have to the GOAT in an active racer now that Greg retired. Don't think he's sweating about assembling a team to get into races. Especially if he misses a few rounds like he has the last few seasons.
Despite all that I don't think he will land one of the 5 season long team wildcards.
The 8 per race team wildcards makes no sense at all, who'll sponsor that? As WBD (and UCI?) think the number of riders at the races must be reduced I'm surprised if more than half of those per race team wildcards will be actuated.
US cycling federation is different and I can see him there. But to me that's a matter of (lack of) opponents/competition, as well as broadcasting.
Hopefully they bother because belt drives are cool and good
Weird move to get mad about a rumor in a rumors thread but okay.
