LOL in the video he says "a nice bit of gravity-assisted downhill." understatement of the decade.

Track looks "wider" than I remember in the original World Cup. To be expected (may just be me mis-remembering), especially the traverses across slope that had the best in the world all switching to flats to one foot impossible loamy roots.
This is gonna be a ripper regardless. Why didn't Red Bull get rights to air this?

That is what I would call a 'falling out of the sky' trail. My arms got tight just watching that 😂

Champery track has changed quite a bit since the OG days of Sam Hill and Danny ripping it apart. They've added chicken lines everywhere to encourage more riders coming from the French side of the region to hit it.
It's still a very very very steep and hard trail to ride, but now you have options if you're a mortal person.
watching qualifying—pile up of masters struggling to get down the track is glorious! U19 women now, and they’re ripping. What a great day in Europe look at it
I saw an IG story that elite seeding got canceled because of too many crashes, is that true?
Yes that’s correct, that will happen when you let 497 competitors race a track like this, alot of underqualified riders on course who do not belong in a race of this caliber. Very difficult to navigate practice do to the sheer number of people on course and lift ques couseing alot of riders to drop into seeding unprepared.

They raced 17-18 Cat 1 meshed in with Pro so they were effectively in the same race. I think they first started running them together at national champs in 2021 so results before that do seem a little unfair as conditions change. There was a big hullabaloo about Logan Bingelli (Pro winner) and Neko Mulally (Junior but fastest of the weekend) in 2011 and who would wear the stripes and I think the UCI for some reason said it should Neko. The next year they included the rule on the books but they still ran juniors separately at National Champs. Juniors also still raced in elite at world cups until 2013 when the junior class was introduced.
So for the rest of the year, NO ONE in Elite will wear the US National Champion's sleeve?Asa is going to be racing Juniors for 2...
So for the rest of the year, NO ONE in Elite will wear the US National Champion's sleeve? Asa is going to be racing Juniors for 2 more years.
Luca has to take the sleeve off & we just don't have a flag in World Cups until Asa ages in or someone gets it next year?
The Canadian sleeve almost went to an enduro racer today. Jonathan Helly dropped last but finished 3rd. Kasper Wooley took 2nd and Jakob Jewett took the W. Jesse Melamed took 4th and Eliot Jamieson 5th.
Women’s side was Emmy Lan taking the win. She’s been doing more dh. Gracey Hemstreet then ALN followed by Sophie Lawrence and Miranda Miller.

Poor Moir, that guy has to be approaching double digit collar bone breaks.
Maybe just replace the whole thing with a Ti rod?
Jack’s got such awful luck. Just got back up to pace and now off the bike again. At least he squeezed a win in there.

Looks a fraction different from what I remember riding in 2019, but OMG what a track! Champery is a beast!
😳 the sliding and rocks rolling in the opening shot. SO STEEP!
Considering the last time i saw a race at that track it was covered in mud, it certainly does look different
Thanks for the video. Brings sooo many good memories!
Damn I was always scared and excited to run this track. It was always a highlight of Morzine trips.
It doesnt look nearly as steep and gnarly with Danny than others vids. A couple other vids they looked like they were gripping the bars extra tight
Danny’s 1st run:
If that doesn’t get you frothing to ride…

Correction: they’re getting broke off too. Steep!!!

Amaury was on the start list, anyone know why he didn't race?
Yes, he wanted to save energy.
He was just here to check the track for next year world champs, and he said it's a very physical one.
