They raced 17-18 Cat 1 meshed in with Pro so they were effectively in the same race. I think they first started running them together at national champs in 2021 so results before that do seem a little unfair as conditions change. There was a big hullabaloo about Logan Bingelli (Pro winner) and Neko Mulally (Junior but fastest of the weekend) in 2011 and who would wear the stripes and I think the UCI for some reason said it should Neko. The next year they included the rule on the books but they still ran juniors separately at National Champs. Juniors also still raced in elite at world cups until 2013 when the junior class was introduced.
Pretty much everyone is there, probably the biggest european champs in history, I guess big summer race void and next years world champs can do that...
Ben, is it the whole track as in past WC races or do they finish at the road crossing?

Whole track as in past WC races, the bridge over the road (and the bottom section) have been rebuilt.
@buckoW at the end of that footbridge, would you consider bolting a wood 4x4 wood at a 45 degree angle on the ground to make a "berm/curb" to stop riders back wheels from stepping out and off the edge of the platform when they turn 90 degrees down that rubber mat?
Message from YT regarding Jack Moir below - get well soon Jack!
August 9th, 2024 – We are sad to announce that earlier this month Jack Moir has broken his collarbone during a training ride at home in Australia. Unfortunately, this puts Jack out of the upcoming Enduro World Champs and remainder of the season. YT Industries is committed to support him throughout this period until he is fully recovered, and we can’t wait to welcome Jack back to his winning ways next season.
“Devastated to be missing the first Enduro World Champs after breaking my collarbone. I’m currently at home having some time off, resting and recovering after a hard year. Hopefully you’ll see me back on the bike in 6 weeks, starting the rebuild for next season. Thanks to all my sponsors and fans for the ongoing support.”– Jack Moir, YT MOB Athlete
Dannys track preview. Looks insane. Its the steepest track I've ever ridden (one of those that any camera will never do justice), with this wide taping its literally going straight down the mountain, lines looks crazy. Amazing job Ben!

LOL in the video he says "a nice bit of gravity-assisted downhill." understatement of the decade.

Track looks "wider" than I remember in the original World Cup. To be expected (may just be me mis-remembering), especially the traverses across slope that had the best in the world all switching to flats to one foot impossible loamy roots.
This is gonna be a ripper regardless. Why didn't Red Bull get rights to air this?

That is what I would call a 'falling out of the sky' trail. My arms got tight just watching that 😂

Champery track has changed quite a bit since the OG days of Sam Hill and Danny ripping it apart. They've added chicken lines everywhere to encourage more riders coming from the French side of the region to hit it.
It's still a very very very steep and hard trail to ride, but now you have options if you're a mortal person.
Did anyone say what happened to Dak?
Ben Cathro states it was his fender again.
European DH Champs are in Champery this weekend.

Poor Moir, that guy has to be approaching double digit collar bone breaks.
Maybe just replace the whole thing with a Ti rod?
Jack’s got such awful luck. Just got back up to pace and now off the bike again. At least he squeezed a win in there.

Looks a fraction different from what I remember riding in 2019, but OMG what a track! Champery is a beast!
😳 the sliding and rocks rolling in the opening shot. SO STEEP!
Considering the last time i saw a race at that track it was covered in mud, it certainly does look different
Thanks for the video. Brings sooo many good memories!
Damn I was always scared and excited to run this track. It was always a highlight of Morzine trips.
It doesnt look nearly as steep and gnarly with Danny than others vids. A couple other vids they looked like they were gripping the bars extra tight
Danny’s 1st run:
If that doesn’t get you frothing to ride…
