Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
Gwin news was definitely out of left field. That random guy hating cascade components from a few weeks ago is gonna be so pissed when he finds out lol.
Ya, he didn't like the VPP because it had anti-rise, and curved compression ratios instead of a flat, consistent falling leverage ratio (exactly what Nekos bike is like haha). We shall see!
Gwin loves his ebikes, and ebikes seem to be Crestlines main thing!
Crestline leverage ratio... https://crestlinebikes.com/shop/rs-205-vhp-frame/#kinematics-1
Came here to say that Crestline VPP (and current Santa Cruz VPP) kinematics have a lot of the traits that Neko has listed as desirable: ~30% progression, linear-progressive leverage curve, moderate anti-rise (not 100%, not super low). Not sure what the Intense VPP kinematics looked like, but VPP designs are apparently quite sensitive to small movements of the pivot locations.
At around 11 mins in the PB podcast Gwin says he hasn't actually ridden the bike yet because his elbow is still healing.
He should remember how it rides...almost the same parts on it
At least there will not be a 47th video about how "hardtails are absolutely awesome, did you know I raced Megavalanche with mine ?" with their new sponsor
Stoked for Gwin--definitely didn't see that coming. But for the love of God, stop changing tires--especially to 'off' brands. I thought he was finally dialed in with VEE tires, now to E13. Ugh. Should have just gone Conti or Maxxis to remove another thing he has on his place ('developing' treads for yet another brand). Unless, again, they're giving him part ownership in the brand or a cut in tire sales that he develops. Still though. Guy hasn't ridden in 8 months and now has to learn a new bike and new tires in a couple months while trying to get up to speed/fitness.
Impressed with Gwin’s juggling:
Bikepark owner/operator
WC racer/comeback from injury
Race team owner/operator
Bike company owner/operator
Potentential announcer for races
Am I missing anything?
Workout video creator
DT Swiss aluminum rim salesman.
Crestline!
Didn't see that one coming, this is so cool
I guess the TeamRumorsThread's street creed took a big hit on this one but well ,.it's all for the best.
We'll come back swinging next winter though, you betterbelievedat
Oh, please no...
You're better than that, Propain! You don't need the likes of GMBN.
Sorry I’ll correct myself, just confirmed by yeti that tyler waite is a dh development team rather than factory, makes more sense considering he’s the only full time dh racer yeti has at the moment. Sounded like he was on the factory team the way burgtec worded it
Yeah, would love to see them with a factory dh setup again rather than with gmbn

He's also coaches at 2 PerformX MTB-camps in April
Wait, who is Crestline?
More seriously, if you wanted to bring brand awareness to your smaller brand, AG is one way to do it. Sounds like the trade was he's a part of the company, but they don't pay him as a traditional sponsored athlete or employee.
I thought Aaron was part owner of Intense Bicycles?
Congrats to Troydon and Mark, that's freaking amazing!! I will have one of their ebikes soon, as soon as they rename the bike co to Trinidad, CO
He was connected with Vee by E13.
E13 tires are produced by Vee.
I'm probably mis-remembering and about to get the flaming of my life from the self promoting Trinidad, CO crew.
No. He was owner of the team called Intense Factory Racing for a few years. The same entity is now called Gwin Racing. Before that IFR was actually a factory owned team.
I'd be very interested to hear how he has approached staying fit with such a huge injury. As a 50 year old rider, its a constant fear I have of how to maintane a base fitness if I get injured.
Sorta relevant. Bulldog just speaking some facts…
Meh, sour grapes from Brook. They didn't do a "Breaking" post for every ride/rider/signing. Get over it. And if you really want people to talk about you win some races or a championship?
Brook definitely not making himself any favours with this kind of behaviour...
Same , I thought with the team he had brought into something at intense.🤔🤷♂️
