Correct, it’s a stabilizer of sorts, not a damper. It’s an external version of the K.I.S. (Keep it Stable”) system developed by Syntace.
we just experimented with a live pit bits. lawlor cruising around. we'll work out some kinks, make it a bit more formal and keep it going in leogang and if you're online at the time, can ask questions via youtube. our regular pit bits video w/ more deets will show up later today. boosh!

This is such a bad idea. The point of wheel flop is that it adds stability. Rake, offset, and HTA allow a bike to "ghost ride" and this stupid system counteracts that.

Obviously it works for some people, otherwise it wouldn’t exist. Although most that I‘ve heard from people is rather negative. I‘m interested in seeing if Troy actually keeps it, or if some other guys do the same.

This is such nonsense. You can do literally everything this system would ever achieve through the means of proper steering geometry. And to add more stability through rock gardens and such you'd want a damper, not a spring. You'd want to make sure that steering input is slowed down, not make it harder to turn the bars. A spring will do literally nothing for you while getting bounced around in a rock garden - to even have any effect it would need to be so stiff that turning the bars at any time would require the equivalent effort of doing a push-up.
A lot of things that have little to no purpose exist. How well they sell is a question of marketing. Not saying the KIS system fits in here, just saying 'if it exists, it works' is far from a always true conclusion.

If my vest had sliding bushings, a dual-positive air chamber, and a 44mm offset just to name a few, I'd be more than willing to sew some sleeves onto them.

This won't stop 'ghost riding' but alter the frequency that the bike wobbles at if you were to let it ghostie along the ground, or offset the speed that it can stay upright. By using springs it will be very position sensitive as opposed to speed sensitive, and since the bars aren't usually turned very far its probably quite subtle. I'm not sure either way if its a good idea or not, but from what I've seen Canyon has been one of the more scientific teams and have some smart guys on board. They might find out its no good but you won't know unless you try!

Looks like they've made some reliability improvements on the 2025 Float X2.
My brain is not braining right now. Either there is a hidden link somewhere or it has indeed flexstays (the silhouette of the seatstays suggests so). The lack of a rear pivot fooled me before but it's a very interesting design I admit.

Since the chainstay is connected to frame through two links rather one pivot, I'm not sure if the whole design fits into flex stay because I guess that affects how the swingarm moves through the travel.
Take a look at the Athertons bikes that are dw link6. They have a chainstay pivot. The way this moves through the travel requires at least some flexing. Careful pivot placement can make the flex very small, but present nevertheless.
