5/18/2025 6:45am FFS. You know how there's those grumpy commenters on the other site that call every E-Bike a motorbike or moped? This is that, and I hate it. The fun of an E-Bike is that it takes a lot of the effort out of pedalling, but it still feels like youre riding a mountain bike. This is a literal motorbike conversion, but with MTB geo. Gross.

5/18/2025 5:56am Wonder if they're using the same crown as used on their 1.8 bottom steerers. From a mfg standpoint, having one crown to rule em all makes a lotta sense financially.

5/18/2025 4:54am Copying the 5Dev cranks tells you everything you need to know about a company. All they care about is looks. The originals are a horrible engineering design. They should have copied Came Creek EEwings. But that would require some skilled welders and not just feeding a CNC machine. Innovation would be using ultra high strength steel from the automotive industry and make a tubular crank that uses the same axles as RF, Cannondale , FSA and all the others that use that same axle.

5/17/2025 3:31pm Apologies for the double post. I recall a story once told by an American craft brewer (who I don't recall...): "If a bottle of your beer costs you 25c to make, why am I paying $5 for it?" "Because making the first bottle cost me $1 million".

5/17/2025 3:30pm Lol I cant wait for the comments of wealthy 200lb beginners say the USD Fox is not stiff enough for their riding when there is a 200lb pro racer taking golds on the fork.

5/17/2025 3:28pm It's blatantly obvious that Lewis just straight up copies prestigious products with the objective of selling them to people who love the looks/bling factor of the absolute high-end stuff but don't want to pay for it. The structural integrity of the design has nothing to do with it.

5/17/2025 3:20pm I'm sure it's mainly because with this setup, even if it's just for testing, they can re-use the Dissent main frame which simplifies things quite a lot.

5/17/2025 3:15pm Yeah its definitely not cast. Im guessing they (radoxx who machines them) has a wide block of billet aluminium, and machine out several rough forks, and then put each one through the operations in a 5axis machine The "legs" also have way rougher machining marks than the normal forks do, most likely since its one piece, they cant put the legs in a lathe, but rather has to have the cnc machine swivel around the leg to remove material. I believe they also use the regular steerer pressed in like the other forks. Will be a limited edition run, orders...
