Wherever the relationship is now (seems healthy enough) its undeniable it wasnt at least a little bit dodgy. Adult team manager getting romantically involved with team member he signed when she was underage. I think it being called out somewhat isn't necessarily a bad thing so that sort of shit doesn't become normalised.

He does, but he also talks a lot of shit, and is famously a massive nit-picker at race venues and complains a lot. So what goes around comes around really. People in scene aren't vindictive, but you can only tolerate a whinging pom so much, ya know? Still waiting for the Hardline BC announcement to come, wonder when that will be and what teams will be going

From a commenter on PB: “ Everyone needs the hear the facts. Markus flossman is an egotistical freak and scammer. After insolvency there was a handshake deal for YT USA to purchase exclusive brand rights and be independently operated. Truth is Markus couldn’t stand the idea of US branch not being under his control. Continued to shoot over shitty deals, 1 year contracts, and insane royalty payments. We as a staff chose not to sign up for a shitty deal that would ultimately kill us anyways. Everyone thinks private equity killed this brand. That’s wrong. Markus single handedly killed YT...

Unfortunately have only had wishy washy customer service so far. They agreed to warranty the master cylinder on the front set that died first, sent me the wrong model after a month (received August 14th), and currently still waiting on a replacement. Contacted them again about the rear, hoping to discuss having a new seal kit or something appropriate sent...

I did have a master cylinder on a V4 that did something this. It would be fine in the garage and feel spongy on the trail at times, then Ok - very inconsistent. After a ride I would check things - no leaks, top off fluid at the MC, bleed, and it would help for a bit and then boom - same deal. Contacted Hope and they recommended swapping out the diaphragm seal as a first troubleshooting step and has been problem free since. Updating post to add that the diaphragm that was removed didn't have any obvious physical defects...

Just my observation but I live in western Canada and can’t think of the last time I saw an Intense in the wild. This includes plenty of time in Whistler, Squamish, etc. I assume they sell more in the US but can’t comment. Makes me wonder if the race team is worth their investment.

Breaking Shimano brakes during a bleed is easy. You just have to apply pressure to the system, this pushes on the membrane which is then pushed against a pin in the cover of the membrane on the lever. Same issue if you have air in the system and go on a plane. Its very easy to damage it if you don't know what to look for.

Now have 2 sets of 6 month old T4 V4's that have horrendous amounts of wandering bite point, gets slightly better after a bleed but immediately returns after 200m of descending. No visible leaks and no pad contamination, very odd. At first, I was thinking either the diaphragm or master cylinder piston, but I'm almost wondering if it has something...

Two years ago, I would have called you crazy, but having had some prefrontal cortex development and a few MTB-related operations, it's terrifying to see a couple dozen incredible human beings (some of whom haven't even reached adulthood) put themselves at incredible risk for arguably not a lot of reward. I genuinely think we are reaching the limits of what...

Cane Creek had the Cloud 9 shocks, no oil at all. RST had the Aerosa forks also, an all-air cartridge with adjustable rebound control. Spoiler alert: air heats up with successive compressions, so your damping gets temperature dependant. We're back to the nineties baby!

Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is part of the deal. This thing 'gulps' all the air in the positive chamber on compression and lets it out with a tiny delay (since it all has to go through the tiny hole to get out). No delay on...

If y'all have to settle keeping bikes with 157 rear hub, E13 is and has blowing out rear wheels with 157 spacing. I almost want to buy the wheel just for the carbon rim. https://www.ethirteen.com/products/sylvan-race-carbon-e-spec-all-mounta… (in 29 and 27.5)

Facts from the Rumor forum: Nukeproof wants to stay true to its UK roots. Doesn't want to spend the money on a big team with flashy truck. New rider has luscious locks. There are two small (no truck or blue US school bus) UK based teams with Rider/Owners, but only one has long hair. Could we see a Nukeproof camper van pit set up?
