The looks so bad. Who the hell wants a battery penis on their seat post. All this because some frame manufacturers cant figure how not to slam the rear wheel into the seat post on big compressions

The collar is already pretty fat on the AXS V1, and by the looks of it, it hasnt increased in size very much adding a battery to it on the V2 So by doing this, they've dropped a significant ammount of stack from the seat mount part/top of the dropper. Sorry if that wasnt clear enough in the above post. The old "collar" is quite fat on the old version: So by putting the battery there instead of at the top, I'd say they lost a good ammount of stack - as pictured in my last post I just measured...

Enough with the chainstay and transmission discussion - We have something else to scold Sram for. Some really clear pics from ESMTB of the electric dropper we discussed about a few pages back. I see why they did it, but it still looks terrible. But having the battery be a part of the collar, probably greatly decreases the stack height of the whole dropper, which is positive at least. https://esmtb.com/asi-es-la-canyon-lux-world-cup-cfr-de-jenny-rissveds-…

32" is clearly too large. 29", on the other hand, might not be large enough. So obviously the future is going to be 30.5" wheels.

I have been using on O-chain on my enduro bike for the last year and feel like it has some benefits. I ride a Specialized Enduro and the one characteristic it has that I don't like is how much the chain slaps in rougher sections when the suspension is set up to be supportive at speed. On repeated heavier hits, the chain goes wild. My goal with the O-chain was to hopefully reduce the movement in the chain and quiet/calm the bike down. I also feel that the chain flapping has some negative affect on suspension, but how much is...

I can with 100% certainty say you're incorrect. "We're all better for it." is immeasurably short-sighted. I only typed that thing up because I didn't want the poster to feel like I was making a judgement on him (or anyone else). It costs me nothing to make sure the people who haven't earned any sort of negativity from me don't perceive any negativity from me towards them. For many of us life is hard. We're all humans and we all feel things differently based on what our hour/day/week/month/year has been like. I don't need to contribute negativity into anyone's life...

Re: Goldstone's upside down STFU. Just spit ballin here, but maybe that's in play due to the clutch being turned off or detuned to essentially be off. Given how SC's VPP designs have a wide range of chainstay length growth and shrink, the bike may work better without a clutched derailleur. Noticed something similar on my Trance X when I forgot to turn the clutch on. It was loud through chatter but felt like it tracked better. Obv an apple:orange comparison but a bigger bike and hella faster rider may notice it more.

I worked at a dealer during that time too and it was absolutely as bad as the internet thought it was. I don’t buy the “pre-production” excuse. They all exploded, pretty much every SB5c and SB6c we sold. Front end, rear end, they all broke. At one point we had two bike boxes full of dead triangles.

Re BK's bike. Look at the angle of the rear wheel as he lands. And the audio is muted on his POV clip in his video when he hits the drop: https://youtu.be/smvc8h3F47Q?si=EsZcoCKF79KcXaHy&t=1098

I feel a lot of people that would complain about the gearbox efficiency making a perceivable difference to their enduro or all mountain ride would be the same people with overbuilt wheels, fox 38, cushycores, and downhill casing tires for multiple blues a maybe a black diamond trail for their saturday ride. Then finish it off with pounding back 4 IPAs and some cake later that day.

Surprised I'm not seeing anyone mention SRAM's post regarding Commencal/Muc-off's full roster. Nice to see Maples still on there and the Alran's. Commencal saying PomPom, Maury and Loris are on fresh 3 year deals. Stacked team

My first thought of the creation of the continental series aspect of all the changes is the opportunity it brings to the rest of the (err, "non-white") world and what that means for the health of the race scene and mountain biking in a general sense. Can't wait to see who has the chance to break thru to top with proper exposure and support !

New rumor I think? Milatul Khaqimah of Indonesia, with 420 pts (top ranked rider without a team in any category, except for Veronika Widmann) was put on Intense Factory in the spreadsheet by somebody. I looked into it, and she has very few followers on Instagram, and barely any from europe/north america. But... Joe Breeden, Lou Ferg, Mille Johnset, and Oscar Griffiths all follow her.

"heard that Wyn, or Gwin" Do you mean you literally overheard someone say *wyn was spotted on a hyper, and you weren't sure if they said Wyn, Gwin or any other -win name, presumably because you were hiding in the closet, covertly listening in to one side of a phone conversation, or perhaps even using one of those spy-radar listening device things? If so, that is the kind of team rumour I am here for.

As others have said, maybe because they actually think its going to make the difference in winning races and competing? Free shifting, weight distribution, unsprung mass. If one of these teams wins, it doesn't just get them 100k, it buys the team/brand credibility. If gearbox bikes come out of this year with a 2 wins and a few podiums, your not interested? Crazy how much skepticism something new and progressive is getting.
