Big call on a yet to be proven product. Proven is way more credable than hype n hope. Not saying they are or will be bad, but what about Dorradoes? They offer very similer stuff but are well proven, including their stiffness or lack there of it. Personally love my BOS forks and Void shock, my Zerode G2, my Formula TheOne brakes, my Works Components narrow wide chain ring. All proven products. I believe enough to buy the DVOs if I needed forks, but I'd not say they're the most advanced in any way or the best YET.

The Enduro pictured here is a $10,000 S-WORKS bike (if you argue $9250 get effed.) If it's not an absolute ripper there is a huge problem. I've spent enough time on 29er's, and this bike and the YETI sb-95 are the only two I would consider buying. With the sb-95 aluminum race build at half the price and in my opinion (which is yes my opinion) more agile/ playful theres my decision. At the top of our sport it IS about the horse keeping up with the rider. The sb-66C steed did just that under Grubby across the board.

Props to Vital for bringing out all the haters, conspiracy theorists, and XYZ-brand fan boys on this one. It's like complainers think this award somehow discredits their personal favorite bike and they need to defend it. To the haters, if you're angry because you think something besides the Enduro 29 should have won, get over it; this is Vital's award and their choice based on their criteria, not yours. It wasn't a vote or a poll. So it's up to you to decide how much influence you want this award to have on your next bike purchase. Personally, I've never...

Nice to see the bike suspension pioneer, Paul, still dialing things in for us. This reminds me of the polished gold MAG 21 SL from the glory days. Looks like two Reverb seatposts (keyway system) clamped in a crown, I wanna see what DVO rolls out in the near future...

Meanwhile, word on the streets is that Tara Llanes is making remarkable progress with her body. Who's talking about this? And furthermore, who is looking out for the athletes of this sport that disable themselves in competition? It's cool for women to be "feminine and fierce" these days but it takes warriors to live a life after bikes considering the reality of blunt trauma in our sport. Gender banter seems irrelevant considering the "bigger picture." Let's generate banter that will initiate progress for our athletes.

12/2/2013 2:37am i think everyone who has tried a 2010 onwards marzocchi fork fitted with the rc3 damper will know already just how good the new forks will be, it would be nice if they could add a shock to the line-up to contend with the double barrel and bos stoy at the top end of the market though. definately looks legit

I don't mean to sound like a dick, but your own retail stores?!? Who in the bike industry has that? Sure quiksilver and billabong do, but surf apparel sells to fat kids in North Dakota in February. Regardless, as a fan of your less moto, less fluoro inspired gear, I hope you find a way forward. Maybe now is the time for direct sales? Lower volume but higher margin.

For 2/3 of the year, that is a decent salary (at the max of 22k). No one is in the bike industry to make money.

$36000 usd when most of food accommodation and other expenses are covered is not bad for 2/3 of the year. You would be banking most of that. GT always have Duvels and Red Bulls on free flow too. There are riders in the top ten in the world making less than that. Plus with Rachel winning so much it's a lot of bonus money.... Assuming she gives her mechanic a percentage of winnings like some riders do.
