Arguments against Tennessee, and even Colorado hosting a World Cup, always include: "access to an international airport" and "lack of facilities" for racers. Lake Placid is like 5 hours drive from LaGuardia. Even if riders flew into Albany, it's over two hours to Lake Placid. Mount Snow is closer to both airports. Lake Placid was beautiful and by all accounts, a unique race. But would it ever have been chosen without this huge, upside-down investment from this "Regional Olympic" agency? Were any other US Northeast resorts even considered? Is altitude really the reason that CO / NM / UT are...

We've done this holiday as a family group several years in a row now. Wife, daughter and friends love morzine town as there's loads to do, nice little shops, cafes etc. Lots of off bike outdoor activities too - big public pool, tennis, via ferrata, white water rafting. I tend to get about 3 days riding and 3 days family time. At that point in the season, trails will be heavily braking bumped, big queues for super morzine area. Chatel has pretty serious airtime if that's your thing. As others have said Champerey is amazing, but takes a while to...

The guide advice is good and I definitely plan to hire one. I've done that on a few trips and it's nice being lead around and taken on trails you wouldn't normally find by someone whom is measuring your skill in real time. Regarding my riding, I do a bit of everything. I'm content in bike parks, but do generally prefer to do all day adventures and do a fair bit of suffering. The ideal scenario for me on this trip would be doing a few epic adventures mixing in huge pedals and gondonals to transfer from one area to...

I did a very similar sounding two week trip last year with my wife (as well as 4 and 1 year old kids) centered around watching the Les Gets WC in August. Other than the WC, which was absolutely sick to see in person and I would 100% recommend doing, it was a bit less bike centered and more of...
Hey all, my wife floated out the idea of doing a trip to the greater Geneva switzerland area this summer to combo a riding trip for me, and a euro culture/vacation trip for her. My wife also rides, and is a huge UCI-DH fan... but her version of riding is XC and views which crosses path with my version, but I also have other priorities. Initially, it seems like the best path of least resistance is to spend some time in Morzine for me to get some riding in. Then head towards Geneva and the surrounding area for site seeing...

With all the hullabaloo on the internet about the Death of Enduro or the inexorable takeover of E-bikes, one would think that the sport of pedal bikes as we know it is in full rigor, eulogized, and buried, six feet under with a concrete cap stone. If the loss of Hill, Jack, Jessie, and Richie (?) wasn't bad enough, having Eddie step away with his flip flops and trademark trackside charisma must have sealed the deal. Not to mention having so few teams left on the EDR (what does that stand for again?) circuit, it's hard to imagine it continuing...

Couldn't agree more! And all I'll add is wait until you see the bike that's dropping tomorrow. You might end up owning 2 e-bikes in the near future.

Figured I'd share my new Levo SL since I got it built up in time for my up coming trips. Longggg back story: I rode an alloy Stumpjumper 15 the past year that weighed between 37.5-40.5 lbs depending on parts. It definitely made me stronger haha but overall I loved how hard I could ride the bike and still pedal it without blowing myself up. This fall, I kept showing up to group rides being the only one not on an e-bike. It was exhausting to keep up, and I realized I really needed an e-bike. But I love the...

If you think so. I just happen to disagree after comparing (on the trail) full fat e bikes to my 44lb relay with DH tires and coil front and rear (ohlins) more capable and better built than the full power bikes I rode. I just felt the heavy full power E bikes were like riding a slug. If all you ride is a 50+lb bike and don’t know the difference it might not matter much. For me here in SoCal on steep rough stuff and whatever jump trail I can find to ride. The extra power also took away from...

Alright I’ve found a winner for DH worthy knee pads The POC VPD 2.0 long. They are extremely protective. They wrap around your knee and stay in place well for a full day of riding. They are CE level 2 rated and just checking them out you can tell they are robust and built to handle heavy hits. I crashed on hardpack 2 weeks ago and the pads worked great. I measured right on the border of medium and large on the POC size chart. I got the large because I heard these run small and I’m very happy I...
