1/21/2026 8:51am Tomorrow I’ll whip up some sort of comparison. Deflection can be analyzed by integrating across the width of the bar so if the outer 75% of a 35 mm bar were identical to a comparable 31.8 mm bar, the deflections would be identical over that length and the only difference would come down to that innermost 25%.

1/21/2026 8:51am Yes it does. It’s just to show that a larger OD is inherently stiffer for the same load rating. You could design a thicker bar to quickly taper but then you have yo ask yourself why start so wide to begin with.

1/21/2026 8:32am At the turn of the last century, having purged imperial sized hex keys from our tool boxes, the bike world enjoyed peace in the form of The Metric System (SHCS edition). But complacency set in and some unnamed evil force introduced Torx, like Sauron they poured their cruelty, malice and will to chafe knuckles into this tool. You wouldn't have to jump between Allen and Torx keys if here were no Torx. Resist! Fight evil! Fault them at their logic! Say no to Torx! Also, what's up with Sram using Torx everywhere except to remove Dub cranks where ∞Nm is...

1/20/2026 2:31pm Imagine choosing a standard that results in a heavier and weaker handlebar... 🤦 35mm handlebars are stronger and lighter than 31.8 for the same stiffness. The first 35mm bars in like 2012 may have been overly stiff but minus a couple of outliers that hasn't been the case for the better part of a decade now.

1/20/2026 2:30pm Thank god. I was shopping for bars and stems but just didn’t feel like there were enough options. This might just be the perfect one.

1/20/2026 1:58pm Why are you being such a narc? Quite a few people in here can't post the concrete information they know as they could be identified as the leaker. Leave the dude alone, it's called rumours for a reason.

1/20/2026 1:57pm So stupid of them. I'd think team media do much more for engagement and to build compelling stories around riders than cannibalizing subscribing viewers.

1/19/2026 6:18pm Very interesting! It's a full alloy mule unlike the Phoenix prototype, and it still has the DW6 flex stay thingy. I wonder if they're keeping their shorter travel options on the DW4 and switching the longer travel bikes to DW6 with the 2-chainz setup? Edit: Also, does anyone think that Vivid looks a bit too big to be a 205x65?

1/19/2026 6:18pm I haven’t really thought about that but yeah, kinda wild spesh hasn’t had a 130-140 ish trail bike for quite a while now it seems? People always swoon over that epic evo but it ain’t no trail bike. Pretty big gap between that and the sumpy currently.

1/19/2026 6:13pm Might be unoriginal and lame but was huge in pop culture. Like in Walmart, Kmart, kohls level of big. Didn’t Jesse date Sandra bullock and pink too if I remember correctly. Was definitely a big deal even if it was a fad. Tensor trucks is where it’s at anyways if you are going to go beyond department store trucks. Independents just expensive for no reason.

1/19/2026 6:13pm Respectfully, it's been around since the beginning of MC outlaw and backyard chopper culture. Independent Trucks in skateboarding too since forever. West Coast Choppers is unoriginal and lame.

1/19/2026 5:59pm Having owned both Code Ultimate stealth and Code RSC with carbon levers, I can attest there is no performance difference. Just a stupider hose routing design in the stealth series.

1/19/2026 4:16pm I know most of y'all don't care too much about Code series brakes but just in case anyone was wondering, SRAM states that there is no difference in the swinglink profile of the newish Stealth series Codes and the older RS/RSC models. According to the email I got back, " There are some subtle differences between a Code RSC and...
