7/4/2024 11:10pm Can I just interject... It scarcely matters how good the Stumpjumper's new suspension is when they want AU$8900 for a Rhythm fork, a Performance shock and whatever we're calling that OEM Transmission (NX?) Righto please continue dunking on the marketing.

7/3/2024 8:49pm Ill bet you 6 doughnuts right now, we see it somewhere else. And you can run other shocks, its not like we are talking about a "brain" equipped Spesh, or Treks Supercal (that could be reason to whinge) You can clearly run an Ohlins shock, and re-tune nearly anything to work!

7/3/2024 8:39pm To add to the rumors, Does the new Stumpy being wireless only indicate that a shimano wireless drivetrain is near? Seems odd to restrict the SJ to one manufacturer only for drivetrain. Specialized likely knows more than we do.

7/3/2024 8:39pm Not to turn this into another brake discussion but I appriciate that they havent felt the need to change things every few years. I am very happy with my Maximas and even though I've had them since launch, and is the biggest nerd, I've not wanted any others. From what I've read about the Lewis is that almost everyone just leaves them with the same leverange setting as trickstuffs are any way...

7/2/2024 9:38pm Okay I hate proprietary stuff as much as the next guy but this shock is not proprietary, its a normal stroke and eye to eye shock you can put any other shock in its place. If you were going to say anything is proprietary on this bike its the drivetrain more than the shock, it can only be replaced with other wireless drivetrains from Sram. If anything is representative of the mountain bike industry its moving to wireless drivetrains exclusively, lets take a system that has worked great with a 25 cent cable and replace it with a wireless battery...

7/2/2024 9:36pm All this leads me to believe they'll release an alloy budget version like they did with the Epic and Chisel full squish that works with cable drivetrains. Hopefully it's mullet compatible (not restricted to S1/S2) otherwise those are two massive misses compared to the Evo. Other option to fill the gap between new stumpy and enduro might be a revamped Status 160?

6/30/2024 12:48pm Sorry for wording it badly, of course RSC s have bearings. But they are not the performance differentiatior. This is where the swing link is the factor between the two. I must admit I very much like Code RSCs (to be honest I did like Lewis Ultimates better, but not 500+ eur better), but every Code R that I touched is, well... Garbage. The lever feel is completely different. Might be the bushings. But I'm fairly certain it's the swing link as I did used to run Guide RS brakes that had both bushings and the swing link.

6/30/2024 12:47pm Thank You, My thoughts exactly. We could all use a little headed thinking, and the realization that we are all different, ride different, on different terrain, with different abilities, on different bikes, and have different needs/wants. We live in a wonderful time, with amazing choices, that all work really well

6/27/2024 11:23am a couple of pages earlier there is a nifty trick on how to work against deadstroke on dominions. this little grub screw works for fine tuning afterwards. love it.

6/27/2024 11:23am About your tube-in-tube routing question: I had good luck sanding the outer part of the hose to achieve a taper. You will be cutting that bit off anyways after routing. It cleared a Specialized Stumpjumper EVO internal routing fine after that. Like this

6/26/2024 7:07pm Got a question for you Hayes A4/2 users out there. Wondering what's up with the bite point/pad contact adjustment dial on the back side of the lever blade. Hayes's website doesn't say there's any way to adjust bite point/pad contact yet the review from The Loam Wolf mentions it can be adjusted via the dial in question. If it does...
