Certainly understand your point. Keep in mind what you are advocating makes frames and bikes ultimately more expensive. By at least doubling the number of rear end molds carbon frame makers would need, you add to the tooling cost, MOQs, design and testing, and inventory. That all equals greater cost which always gets passed to the consumer. Obviously that isn't arguing the pros or cons of longer stays, just pointing out the additional piece to consider...

2012 Cadillac CTS V Wagon though I picked up a pick up last fall so it is less frequently used for shuttling

I can't even take the rest of this article seriously after your Moab introduction. So lets look into my crystal ball... You decided to pedal the whole Porcupine loop instead of paying for a shuttle = amateur. Based on your dehydration, I can assume you brought maybe a couple water bottles on a 30 mile desert loop = double dangerous amateur move. Ironically your lady was doing better in the hydration department so I bet she a actually brought 3 liters in a Camelbak and despite her insistence you told her you'd "be fine" with less, and then tried to...

Definitely a good point. I am definitely a Shimano guy. I gave the Guides a chance last year and really like them. They were durable and consistent all year long. I really like the lever on them. Definitely different but the combo works quite well. The wheels are rad! I ran the same model just different wheel size last year on my Balance. They are still going strong!

Lizard Skins makes a 'frame leather' that works really well for protecting from the tailgate pad. The frame is raw with no clear, so I wanna keep it fresh. I also put 3M on a variety of spots to prevent rub or shuttle damage.

Awesome! Congrats, a bitchin bike for sure. It was tight for sure. I put this guide on first, then the cranks. Everything seemed to tighten up just fine.
