Got some carbon fiber wraps they use on MX forks to cover the sides of the titanium main tube when/if(lol) I wreck they will protect the metal tube. I am also looking to have a carbon fiber builder in the area make a custom guard to cover the right side and entire bottom/front of the swingarm also. In the mean time I fashioned a cf guard for the front and bottom(some) of the swingarm. Bit ghetto, but we will call it "tech ghetto" lol.

With all the detailed images that Jeff posted, I went ahead and did this render of what the bike could look like. Just need to wait and see how close or off the bike I will be from this. PH

Over 4+ minutes absolutely pinned on a wet track, most every gap being ballsy as heck at full tilt, both having those sketch drop rock to blind berm turns memorized and pegged. Just about one of my favorite all time POV runs. So many perfectly executed setups in a single track. Congrats guys. You nailed it!

People love the PB Huck-to-Flat slow-mos, but I'd 100% rather see that whoops section in slow-mo. Can we we crowd fund a high-speed camera for Vital in time for this? Good Lourde that'd be sweet. I could find some MRP budget for that – would love to see what a chain does there! Smile

Mick Hannah on leaving the UR team. " I had an opportunity present itself that aligns better with my family and racing goals and I made the tough decision to leave the team. UR Team has been completely supportive and helpful through this process and I will always be grateful for them." It'll be interesting to see what he does next.

Anyone else look fondly back at those halcyon days when it was possible to express an opinion without being classed as a hater?

I don't remember mentioning Joe Rogan and I don't even know who Alex Jones is. Data on daily covid deaths in Italy can be easily verified on worldometer. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/ All covid related data for each country can be verified here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Look at data from most African countries and from India and see for yourself: compare deaths per million inhabitants statistics to those of most European countries.

No reason fight and be ugly with each other. Maybe it is not the right place(internet, mtb site, while you are alone) to fight and find arguments. Let other ppl do it, let those who are in the right positions do it, and you as a human can make up your own mind, But please, dont fight here

Unlike dictator Griz who has been watching too much CNN, I feel any aspect of a racer's medical health aught to be made by the racer. I also think it's absolutely ridiculous to mandate such medical requirements when it's neither been proven safe or effective. I'm seeing way too many first hand complications (specifically heart related issues) from young and healthy individuals that statistically would have been fine had they acquired their immunity naturally by contracting COVID. We've turned this into a much larger mess than it needed to be. If you want the vaccine, get the vaccine. If you...

So famous, most forgot Matti won it. Smile I am late to this party and all you guys spit out the classic, making it a great thread. It's been said above, but Sam at Vallnord in 2009 was a jaw dropper too, especially if you knew the terrain he crashed in; it's mind boggling. There's also the famous photo in Dirt Mag, shot by Victor Lucas (I think) with him being devastated in the finish line, head down, with one perfect drop of water dripping off his D2, drop that was snow less than 1 km above. Another one that...

Its gotta be Sam at Val di sole. I remember watching it live at the shop I worked at in college, my jaw was on the floor when he washed out. A close second is Ratboy at World Champs in Hafjell. 40 foot jump to flat, breaks ankle, can't pedal, coasts to the finish line, misses out on being World Champ by 0.4 seconds.

This is fun minde games, but to illustrate or maybe take some magic out of this: what about gwins run at fort William when he flew of the bridge at the top? I see this has less value in the excitment-levels, but is it still less valid? Top contender, not knowing what could have been?

Lots of the pros talk about just wanting a change of "partner" and such to shake things up if they're feeling like they are in a rut. I don't think it really has much to do with clashing personalities or anything like that... I just think that, if you're a racer, you're looking for mental advantages where you can find them, and a change of environment can sometimes provide that. Of course, it can also backfire and end up hurting performance, but you've got to do what you feel is best at the time.
