Love it! This was before my time, but the overall vibe was very much alive when I moved to this area in 2006. The Moab OGs would pedal bikes like Foes DHS (?), Balfa 2-step, and Ellsworth Dare all over the damn place. No huck was too flat to send. The armor of choice was Carhartt.

7/29/2015 9:40am So it sounds like the bike park stages 6&7 will be open for practice tomorrow.....which is much better IMO. I was more worried about riding bike park trails with jumps/drops blind than the backcountry stages.

Dirt Magazine goes out of print and now this? Jesus... On a serious note, this is a bad idea for MTB. Are the stupid things fun? Of course they are... It'd also be fun to blast my KX450F up the local MTB trails... It's also fun to shuttle all of the local MTB trails on DH bikes, But most people don't (or they get a lecture and possibly a sock in the nose) 'cause it's totally a bad idea and bad for MTB. Roll down the road a bit and shuttle where it's legal (or, at least permitted) or hit...

The beauty of not having electric assist- The higher you make your way into the trail system, the less gapers and people overall crowding the trails. Electric assist is a horrendous idea. If you're too lazy to pedal to the top, stick to the lifts. At least then we know what trails to avoid. They look massively fun but so does blowing shit up. However, you don't see me in the streets throwing molotov cocktails.

7/6/2015 4:50pm and whats gonna happen when that tubby dude's bike breaks down 30 miles out, and he has no skills,experience, or fitness to get his lazy ass back to where he started? if the climb/descend "fun ratio" is too hard for you find a different sport, don't destroy the trails for everyone else who can handle it.

I hope it's a step in the right direction for Enduro. It is an awesome mtb racing format, and it would seem like big-time, formal recognition is a good thing for racers/sponsors/making a living. I think the pressing question now is if or how the infamous Rule 1.2.019 will be enforced. If the UCI is sanctioning races, will UCI Enduro racers be able to race non-sanctioned races?...of which there will probably be many awesome ones. One of the great things about the format is that grass-roots events are popping up all over the place and most tracks are awesome in...

Some quality terminology, course and bike handwringing going on here....I'd say Enduro has arrived. The event was awesome, really well run at a challenging venue. The course was super fun and a little brutal. It was a hard one to "race", and IMO that makes for a good course.
