deathXsquad Added a comment about product review Heavy Duty Carbon

there are plenty of aluminum options out there with good width that are equal to or lighter than these and most other carbon rims. you can go buy some Spank Oozy Trail 295's at 450g per rim (30gs lighter) for half the price. my 27.5" wheelset of the same variety were 80 grams less than these 26"s, for $500. ive had this discussion a few times recently with some homies who are testers for a big mag, their consensus is that the ALU wheels they are testing now have come so far in the past few years that Carbon is...

Somebody else commented on DH being cycling's Group B. For those not in the know, I give you this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INwqyPct8qY -- Group B was rally's unregulated "send it" class. Cars were pushing 900 horse and weighed 2000 pounds. Crazy amazing stuff. If I remember right, the Delta S4 could push 70psi of boost if needed? Yes, 70. I also don't know how many times I can point it out - EWS racers are allowed to run anything and there is still no consensus what is faster. Why is everyone so positive 29" is going to always be faster in DH...

the concept of more wheel sizes creating an unfair advantage in terms of cost/access is ridiculous....every single one the racers complaining has had access to prototype/one-off components for years. i don't recall anyone flipping out over SC creating a $100k XXL V10 frame just for Minnaar, and no one seems to be upset over Sram's Black Box program. just took a quick peak at Danny Hart's rig last year and immediately saw at least 5 parts no one else could ever get ahold of. if an even playing field is a true concern these riders should be aggressively lobbying for...

UH OH! D Riff got 2nd in the Downieville Classic, the only thing he won was the DH stage. Local NorCal pinner Colin Daw got 2nd in the DH, and 2nd in the XC making him the actual Downieville Classic champion! D Riff must have lost feeling in his legs during the XC due to wearing a 6 year old girls shorts, and could only muster 5th in the XC for 2nd overall. Maybe next year brah..... http://www.pinkbike.com/news/downieville-2016.html

i have also designed/tested course, marshaled and worked timing at races up to the NAET & EWS level. its not a big deal at all, if you know what you are doing. thats what manual backup timing is for. and if working a race is so stressful for you that you end up acting in this manner towards hard-working and big $$$-paying racers you need to find a new job. librarian maybe? this is supposed to be fun. blows my mind people even bother with USAC anymore, just a stream of nonstop drama!

I can't even take the rest of this article seriously after your Moab introduction. So lets look into my crystal ball... You decided to pedal the whole Porcupine loop instead of paying for a shuttle = amateur. Based on your dehydration, I can assume you brought maybe a couple water bottles on a 30 mile desert loop = double dangerous amateur move. Ironically your lady was doing better in the hydration department so I bet she a actually brought 3 liters in a Camelbak and despite her insistence you told her you'd "be fine" with less, and then tried to...

Look, I get it- getting old an injured sucks. And yes, maybe you could keep up with the young'ins on your e-bike. But playing the sympathy card in no way changes the fact that this is a motorized vehicle. We don't allow ATVs on hiking trails just to for the sake of the handicapped, nor do we allow jet skis on no-motor lakes just because someone can't swim. I truly feel sorry for those who can no longer participate in the sport in the way they once did, whether it's due to injury, age, or some other factor. But please...
