Danny Hart's Mondraker Summum 6

Pro Bike Check with the reigning World Champ!

The reigning DH World Champ shows us the Mondraker Summum that he'll be running in 2017. He raced the bike in Lourdes to a solid qualifying position (4th, only .2 seconds off of 2nd place) when the course conditions weren't controversial. As we know, race day was a different story, but Danny clearly has his bike and his strategy figured out. We caught up with him at his Descend Bike Park after Lourdes to discuss his race bike and why he runs what he runs.

Why a Power Meter?

A Shimano drivetrain is the biggest change for the Mondraker squad in 2017. Danny also runs a Stages Power Meter on his bike at all times, including race day. He hangs it out and looks loose on-track, but he's clearly a savvy competitor, using all the training and technologies he can get his hands on.

FOX suspension keeps the wheels on the ground. He's pretty honest about not knowing the specifics of what clicks and tunes are happening, but his ability to feel out the suspension is uncanny. Now if we could just get more info on that fork damper.

Suspension Settings

Danny's Renthal cockpit is pretty stock aside from his bars which have a 9-degree backsweep to help keep him more centered over the bike. Full-moto with wired-on grips, too.

Danny doesn't seem to think running clips is any less fun that flat pedals. The World Champs treatment from SDG and Five Ten embrace his 2016 performance.

Clips or flats?

Must be nice to have your own bike park, eh?

Ready to rip his own personal bike park on some special Maxxis tires.

Specially-built Maxxis Tires?
