4/19/2021 9:20am This is the sort of content I come to bike websites for. There are so many good bikes out there these days and reviews like this give people real world information on that next purchase or just help scratch a curiosity itch. Nice work.

3/31/2021 2:45pm Sick test: "Soooo... we tested it on trails where we couldn't really adequately test it. Then one of us almost got to test on the type of trails it is intended for but couldn't cause of the weather. But we think it will be ok on terrain where it is intended to be ridden." Bang up job, Vital! Wtf? lol

This is a bad idea for MTB. Are the stupid things fun? Of course they are... So is cocaine. So is unprotected sex with sketchy skanks from the bar. So it driving real fast on crowded streets...Doesn't mean it's a good idea. It'd also be fun to blast my KX450F up the local MTB trails... It's also fun to shuttle all of the super crowded local MTB trails on DH bikes, But most people don't (or they get a lecture and possibly a sock in the nose) 'cause it's totally a bad idea and bad for MTB. Roll down the...

Dirt Magazine goes out of print and now this? Jesus... On a serious note, this is a bad idea for MTB. Are the stupid things fun? Of course they are... It'd also be fun to blast my KX450F up the local MTB trails... It's also fun to shuttle all of the local MTB trails on DH bikes, But most people don't (or they get a lecture and possibly a sock in the nose) 'cause it's totally a bad idea and bad for MTB. Roll down the road a bit and shuttle where it's legal (or, at least permitted) or hit...

1/12/2015 12:49pm Use all three settings on the rear shock and use a travel adjust on the front (Currently Pike, used TALAS with Fox)... Bigger trail bikes with longer travel forks and slack angles put the rider's mass too far back behind the BB on steep climbs, thus, light front end and a bad case of the "swervies"... Dropping the front end...

7/5/2014 3:35pm Hey man, just call IMBA. They'll probably help you out. After all, aren't they the International Mountain Biking Association, fighting for trail access; the voice for all mountain bikers? Don't they offer legal aid to the MTB community, all the way to the point of going to court for trail access? Oh, wait...your trails are steep and fun? Nevermind...

3/2/2014 8:47pm IMBA designed = ZZZZZZZZZZZ... Rad trails can be built to be safe, fun, and sustainable. Unfortunately, certain trail building "standards" are putting the kybosh on that...one trail project at a time.

filthyanimal Added a comment about feature Jared Graves - DH World Championships, South Africa
9/4/2013 3:40pm Awesome write-up! These journals are killer! We've been through the wheel size debates, dh vs enduro bike choices...I would be very interested to see hard numbers on tire weight on track like that. Obviously DH tires offer more support and carry more rotational momentum (and more flat protection), but every time you pedal or pump (jumps, bumps, outta berms/turns), you are trying to accelerate the bike. Obviously it also depends on track surface, what type of rider you are, etc. so its not straight physics... I know I always go back and forth between heavy and light tires and usually...

5/1/2013 3:48pm I like the way you think, cuban B. I've actually thought of that and have had some discussions with some top bike-fit people in the industry. I'll have an article about it coming out pretty soon. One of the issues why road fit (or xc, endurance) is so crucial, is because of the amount of time, pedal revolutions, etc, that...

5/1/2013 10:57am @ DThuren: yep, for sure. And, with too long of stem/too low bars, you're STARTING OUT in bad position. You won't be able to react properly, much less, actually be proactive with your riding. @ cuban B: Yeah, MTB has been about identity crisis from the get-go: Well, it was great and unique at first: a bunch of stoners driving...
