Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

Finally got hold of a set of GR4s after years on the Tech 4 V4. As with all things Hope the build quality is a work of art. First impressions: I bled the ‘old’ way without using the bleed port because I didn’t have the adapter for the funnel yet .Hopes new bleed video gives a few new steps which seem to work good. Lever is a touch heavier throw than the v4 but much shorter throw before bite due to the new cam design. It’s still very light. Extra hook on the lever is really nice, way more secure...

On my third ebike now, my previous Giant Reign was alloy frame with heavy motor and battery, DH tyres and coil spring. It weighed 26kg (57lbs) with pedals, so I just don't see how anything heavier is justifiable. Currently, have a carbon, bosch gen5 system with air suspension that is between 23 and 24kg depending on which battery I put in (51-53lbs). I don't actually find much difference while riding, but I appreciate the slight reduction in weight for loading it into the car or lifting it over fallen trees etc. Even with lighter motors and batteries I don't see...

I think you have over thought it and the bk sport thing. I'm pretty sure it was just a merch opportunity off the back of his YouTube channel success and popularity. From the conversations going on in other threads on this site and others it seems like that may be on the decline so I doubt he could count on that. I know for one I wouldn't walk about with a t-shirt with his name on it.
