I'm not saying that isn't a Manitou coil shock but the spring retention piece is very similar/same as a Vorsprung Telum: I'm fortunate enough to have a Telum and walked out to my garage to verify the shape as my first impression seeing the photo of that shock was 'that looks familiar'. You could say I was...bites knuckle...shocked. Not sure why Manitou hasn't made a coil shock in ages though so intrigued if it is a Manitou for sure.

I don't have an infinity, but I do have a flash. Which is pretty close anyway. It will definitely achieve those things you are after. Under braking is where the fork really shines and you don't have to run a power of damping to keep it under control. Because they're so well put together off the top sensitivity is a...

I wouldn't put much weight in the enduro mag test findings - the results don't make any sense. I see a few issues: 1. Shimano XTR, XT, and SLX all have the same mechanical and hydraulic power output, but the test results show them as being wildly different. 2. They also show TRP DHR evo as dramatically underperforming XTR. Having used both, this is just incorrect... 3. And lastly, XTR being next to Maven in terms of test results in laughable. XTR is a cross country brake compared to maven stopping power. Based on the wild discrepancy between mechanically equal...

The hopes ship with green, black and purple. Greens are race oriented, very powerful, wear quick. I actually have never tried the blacks, they're resin. Purples are marketed as a ebike pad, they're a sintered setup. They're actually pretty good, great power and last ages. I often run a green up front and Purples out back 👌

You just haven't experienced true "best or nothing" performance... besides, those two millimeters are going to ovalize your headtube.

Thanks. The save at the end was pretty exciting from my perspective. Once my head was fully buried in green in the B-zone, I was pretty much sure that I was cooked. Happy to pop out on the other side, and it since I didn't die it made for a great clip. Shoutout to Luca Cometti for making me look fast!

I think the asymmetric thing is way over exaggerated, unless your on some weird old school stem. I generally just pick the stem number than means I can get into an easily repeatable, comfy riding position where I don't have to think to much about weighting. Most of my bikes have shorter 35mmish stems, not for that number as such...

Great question! I think there's a simple suspension principle that applies here, that as rider speeds and trail speeds go up, rebound should get faster. As speeds go down, rebound should slow down as well. And I think that decision to speed up or slow rebound comes down to two things: packing and pushing. 1. Packing: as you noted, as trails dry out, speeds tend to go up. As a result, the rate of bumps hitting your wheels increases, as your suspension is hitting the same number of bumps in less time, and your fork is more likely to pack...
