Robstyle Added a reply to Mini Van set ups
8/15/2025 12:26am That 1up van tray is pretty cool. I found some Yakima highroad roof mount racks for cheap and used them inside my van. It's awesome to be able to hold them in good and load super fast. I have a transporter, so I don't think that fits into the mini van class haha.

8/8/2025 11:13am You can just use a Gen 1 axs and put a short or medium cage on. Then just max out limit screws. Well that's what I did anyway, it works fine.
Robstyle Added a reply to Alright, body armor. What is the best chest protector? (Also taking knee pad recommendations.)
7/28/2025 1:41am I have the ion arcon chest protector. It is amazing! I've had poc and a Scott hybrid Softcon, the ion is easily my favorite. Great fit, nicely vented and has a good buckle system.
Robstyle Added a reply to Specialized prototype- Why are they allowed?
7/27/2025 1:22pm My guess is they make enough little changes to the bike to label it a new model and restart the process.

Robstyle Added a reply to Why is it so hard to find good fitting elbow pads?
7/22/2025 7:31pm I don't like elbow pads, but I had a huge gash in my arm so I kinda had to try some to protect the stitches. I've got arm pump before from them which had put my off. Anyways, raceface indy's have been mint. They're very minimalist, they've saved some skin so they definitely work. No arm pump and they don't...

7/21/2025 6:09pm Hey everyone, not mad at anyone in this thread (besides maybe myself). I clearly have ideas and a delivery style that probably isn’t ideal for a mountain bike forum. Robot wrote a genuinely great post (he’s a better writer than me), and I realized there was no way for me to counter it. Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because I started turning into this (actual photo Tucker took of me this morning): Any frustration you see from me is with myself, not anyone else. I like friction. I like debate. What I don’t like is knowing...

7/21/2025 12:54pm Hey Jeff, I'm so sorry that my forum post bummed you out so much. It sounds like you want to stop posting on Vital entirely based on what I wrote. I'm so sorry it was so disrespectful. I have really appreciated your insights and analysis, and I think everyone has, and this bike industry forum in particular has been like a mini "intro to finance course" over the last 3 years based on everything you and other people (who know way more about this stuff than me) have contributed. Rereading what I wrote, I can see how my words may...

7/20/2025 11:40pm Jeff, respectfully, there's this theme in your posts where you assume (I'm paraphrasing) "if only these companies had a good CFO things would turn out differently." If only YT had "sophisticated financial planning and analysis tools," if only they were "watching macro indicators to understand where consumer demand is headed," and "looking at appropriate comps to learn from," if only they'd "started to stress test their model and realized they had a problem with respect to volume and turns against their debt obligations while running a low margin business." Instead, it looks like "CFOing was absent. Nobody was ringing the...

7/15/2025 6:33pm I just use side cutters or diagonal cutters and send it. It's worked sweet for all my braided. You could also use a cutting disc and wrap some insulation tape around your cut point.

6/26/2025 5:15pm I’m sure I’m not the only one who breathed a sigh of relief when Troy crossed the line green last week when it seemed like the track was getting harder as the race progressed. And while i understand the perspective of no court ruling daprela is responsible means they can’t really stop him from racing. But basically eso has pretended that there are no fairly substantiated allegations from the beginning. And it seems as his results have improved closer to where they were more and more media groups seem to be willing to give him a spotlight without an asterisk...

6/14/2025 1:42pm Hey, I’m Ryan Burney. I’ve been engineering bikes for 8 years, and this is a breakdown of what I’ve learned starting my own small business, Rim Saver. In this post, I’m sharing everything I’ve learned while launching a product business in the bike world. What worked, what didn’t, and what I’d do differently. If it helps even one person take the leap or avoid a mistake, it’ll be worth it. Background I made the first version of Rim Saver in college. The idea started out as a beadlock concept, then evolved into a beadlock with rim protection, then just rim...

5/28/2025 10:25pm i just want to make one last comment re: deleting pics, community etc then i'll be quiet. over the last few years, i've become very aware of how much of a privilege it is to be a part of a community that is supported by some of the best brands in our game. but the key word here is community...YOU all are the community. without you and your sleuthing, your knowledge, your stoke for the sport and its equipment, or your informed opinions, vital wouldn't be very special. with that said, if all vital does is bow down to brands...
