I'd also like to clarify something with regard to the title of this thread "DIY Ghetto High Pivot Idler" as well as the home page head line "Is a DIY High-Pivot Conversion Using ISCG05 Tabs Possible?" To the general consumer these titles are misleading. An idler and high pivot suspension design do, in general, accompany each other. But a bicycle with an idler does not make it a high pivot as an idler is independent of the pivot placement. I understand the "high pivot" is a buzz word right now (doing it for the clicks), but the bummer is that...

A fair number of Specialized's "comfort" bikes have Schraeder valves that are fully threaded and have a small ring that screws down to the rim. I imagine they do it for the exact reason you specify - the valve gets pushed into the rim when you try to inflate the tube.

Maybe the ultimate solution is this poppet design in a schrader sized valve.. With some many rims going wider, why do we stay with the presta valve? There is now plenty of rim material to allow for a little bit of a bigger hole...

Schrader also gets filled by the sealant... I've used it for years in ghetto tubeless setup on my 26" bike back in the days and after some time the flow rate was close to zero Laughing

Well, the cat's out of the bag now, Vital MTB is making the bold move into bike manufacturing and we're coming in hot with the EVO model right off the bat! That's right, we didn't even bother with making a regular model, it's straight to the EVO gnar for us! We're taking name suggestions at present, "Dire Cheesecake" is currently the front runner but "Stern Cupcake" is quite popular with some staffers as well. Get yours while supplies last (aka "before they all snap in half just sitting there in the warehouse" LOL...obviously this is a joke, we're not making...

Yes, they were actually running the Kenda tires. The Intense team did not black out any rubber. So Moir went from being able to chose from a catalog of DH tires/tread patterns he was comfortable with to being on Kenda with only a couple tread options in DH tires and lacking compounds and casings (that Gwin is still trying to work with them on, almost 3 years later). Tires---or more importantly one's confidence in them--is surely worth 5, 10(?) spots in a world cup result sheet when times are tight. It's pretty massive.

While I don’t think jack particularly vibed with the gwin run intense team, I’m pretty sure that was a dig at cannondale for allegedly commiting him to a dh team then dropping the program after the race season was over and it’s hard for someone of jack’s caliber to subsequently find a gig. Strangely worked out for everyone but moir joined canyon’s ews team cause flo leaving left a spot for a salaried rider, not because moir was itching for a new challenge. The fact the current ews champion had the choice between going essentially privateer or switching series certainly...

Far be it from me to know the ins and outs of it all let alone someone's head, but there was a definite team chemistry in the original IFR guys. They were having a good time and doing well. It seems Jack had another year so they kept him around when Gwin took over, maybe Gwin wasn't that stoked to have to take him or maybe Jack wasn't that he'd lost his mates and vibe he was enjoying... or both? Or maybe pressure to perform to keep his spot? Not so easy when you don't want to be where you...

You need to go watch jack moir interview with wyn tv after he won the Enduro World Series this year. Something along the lines of ‘it’s a bit a big F@#k you to the people the stitched me up’ Don’t think his performance on his last year of intense had anything to do with running fox forks.

Johnny Waddell was the first Santa Cruz Syndicate rider with a Red Bull helmet if I recall correctly. And if you don't know who he is, google "Kranked 5" and learn yourself.

A pro deal is on the line…. Do you really think riders are going to turn round and say… ‘no thanks… I like my fox forks to much’ Loris completely changed his set up…. And won on it.

Who needs sources? This is for rumors, gossip, hearsay, innuendo, buzz, scandal, fuss, intimate intelligence, lowdowns, juicy morsels and tittle tattle. Sources just ruin the fun. We have two more months before good byes and welcomes start so fill'r up with all the hoaxs, fabrications, swindles, spoofs and fibs you can concoct. Jackson to SC would be interesting. Young blood on the team with Greg and Laurie to guide him into the big leagues.
