The technology is less important than the ability to market stuff... Fancy words sell things, not the capability of the product, at least all too often that's the case. What I'm wondering is how long it will take for all Yeti bikes to get 6-bar suspension instead of the slide link that they currently use.

You would think that with an ebike you could simplify the suspension design because you are not as concerned with losses from the suspension as they would be easily picked up by the motor. You can still get a really nice curves without all the extra moving parts.

Never had an issue with XT, not sure jumping to XTR would solve dodgy line choices.

Bad luck or operator error or both. I prefer shimano but I'm not so biased as to think a certain derailleur will hold up to being smashed against things significantly better then another (apples to apples, not SLX to walmart).

How did you destroy the two SLX derailleurs? I'm asking because I'm not sure a XTR or GX rear derailleur is gonna be more resistant to direct rock strikes, for instance.

Well if you're leaving out DH that's kind of cheating, since the new Session and the last few generations of the Supreme DH/prototype have all done really well across all sorts of races. Ignoring them, you only have a few examples of high-pivot designs trickling down to the enduro/trail level (Forbidden, Norco, Kavenz, Deviate, GT, Cannondale) and they're all relatively unproven. Now, you could say that manufacturers are starting to move away from a true "high" pivot and lowering it a little (see the GT, Cannondale, and the Supreme prototype) to make the handling closer to a 'regular' design while...

The 'Ummm. What?!' is there for a reason. What in the name of all that is holy is a 'stand up shock'? And what the hell is 4 cogs and 5 cogs in the drivetrain?! If your intention is to confuse people, a) you're doing a good job, b) don't be surprised by the downvotes.

It's clearly an exhaust for a mini motor. It's a 2 stroke gas-powered servo for a remote lockout. You just kick start the motor on the other side and it locks the shock. It usually only takes 2 or 3 stokes to start. Gas-powered servos are more reliable than electronics for world cup racing.

If a marketing dude say it, it must be true.
