5/20/2024 2:21pm Reasons why Red Bull was better: 1) It was free and easy to view. 2) Because it was free more people watched it. 3) We saw more racing. Whilst the addition of Junior Finals coverage is a positive, the reduction to a 10 woman/30 man finals means we are now paying less race runs than ever before. 4) Red Bull's graphics were better. The virtual straight graphic was useful. The wiggly line graphic is pointless. 5) Some of the WBD camera position/type choices are terrible. The overhead drone shots at Ft William were like watching Google Maps. 6) Current coverage...

3/29/2024 8:51am Can we finally do away with orange lowers on these new fox forks? One of the worst things to happen to mountain biking.

3/27/2024 7:22pm Long story short: "There's a lot more going on that Crankworx isn't sharing on social media or press releases, but I'm not going to go into it" This video hasn't done anything to make me feel more sympathetic towards the athletes. Absolutely make sure the athletes have a voice when it comes to course safety and impact of weather/etc on the event. No one will ever convince me it's the event's responsibility to ensure athletes are able to participate (ie - travel and accommodations) and will never think an appearance fee is a reasonable ask as long as it remains...

3/26/2024 3:33pm I agree. I'm an engineering manager for a massive aerospace company worth $6B+ and they don't buy me lunch every day. They expect me to manage my finances so that I can feed myself, travel to and from work, and perform the job they paid me to do. This is a company makes the Crankworx organization look like a kids lemonade stand, and all they do is pay me a salary to do a single job. Just like the sponsors are paying these guys to show up to comps and do a job. Obviously not all jobs are the same...

3/26/2024 3:32pm Man...the appearance fee, wanting food & accommodation...those are benefits not even employees can get. Sorry, but this reads as Gen Z bullshit. Don't fly to the OTHER END OF THE WORLD to spin your bike in the air for a few if you don't have your own money, sponsors, contracts, insurance & extradition in order. These guys are talking like they are a single entity that supplies Crankworx with a set pool of "performers" for a "show". If that's the case, they should have NAMED a FLAT appearance fee for their collective/entity/company (insert name of freeriders here). You want to...

3/24/2024 8:53pm sounds likely haha I've been on both sides in various roles - Most, atleast in NZ Unionized Companies struggle as Unions push push push, They dont care if the company survives which is actually worse. however, pay agreements are simpler as its just a wide sweep overal but there is always so much arguing from members who dont agree blah blah. currently in a management role At a unionized company and its Cut throat stuff trying to balance markets while all the workers want to strip us of any revenue/profits - Our main complaint is machinery thats broken down etc...

3/23/2024 11:06am Man good for them I guess!?? after waiting and traveling for hours to watch joyride last year I don’t really feel any sympathy. The same group of pros made 20,000 people sit around for four hours so they could perform 1 run. Then I watch these kids at the hotel the next week and in the village just getting paid to party lounge around and bitch at the hotel staff to get their bikes out and clean there rooms. I get you want more we all do. It just seems tough to get on their side. After being made to...

3/23/2024 11:00am I don't think I'm being insensitive, but should you get an appearance fee for competing in what is a world cup freeride event? It's not like it's a Nitro Circus or Masters of Dirt show. Furthermore, the Belgians pay big money to have a Van der Poel or an Iserbyt to turn up and race CX, the non podium contenders get peanuts. If the slope guys want appearance fees, they'd better be careful what they wish for.

3/8/2024 2:40pm What??? They are getting outside the industry perks, money and exposure. You know almost all other 'major sport' atheletes get outside the sport money and often auto industry money. In addtion, your second comment is about Fezzari/Ari, not Ford. You mad because Ford skipped over your resume?

1/22/2024 3:11pm Let's just call Greg's interview what it was - all sales /hype - whereas Neko has pretty much shown he isn't trying to bullshit anyone. Reminds me of when Syndicate went from SRAM/RockShox to Fox - "oh it's the best thing out there!" Steve... Didn't you just say like last week how incredible your suspension was performing?

12/28/2023 4:21pm Good argument/advise for a racer in 2021, not currently. Being fast and having good race results is not enough anymore - see the criteria in PB Academy season 3 for reference. Also, notice how the racers that are being dropped from their sponsors are ones with very little social media presence, not a coincidence. I also wished it was different, but it is not. Btw, wtf with that comment about the UK. That's the most Texas comment ever.

12/28/2023 4:20pm Did you not see the multiple "Welsh Enduro" wins. i.e. Wales, the country. Appreciate that nuance may be lost on non-UK people - the UK is a United Kingdom of separate countries: England, Scotland, Wales and NI. I also don't think it's "silly" to say athletes need to get better at being a brand representative/storyteller for their sponsors, rather than just the race results. There's a handful of hardcore race fans who can remember who placed where and when, but a far, far greater potential audience of people engaging with an athlete who documents their training, setup, riding and racing...
