Also gets you an approxiate estimate: (Wheelbase - CS length) / CS Length If you have a high pivot bike, take into consideration how much the CS/Rear center grows throughout its travel to adjust your WB length and calculation accordingly.

I've been seeing the interstitial/splash screen ads pop up more often lately, notably when I click "More" on a quoted reply to see the rest of it, which I had never seen happen before. not sure if this was intentional, and it's not a huge deal, just wanted to let y'all know as it's a bit frustrating.

In fairness, I'm guessing the price-performance-reliability triangle was better on a per-unit basis for Vitus to swap everything to carbon from Flybike than it would be to try to get decent quality alloy equivalents. RE: Ibis+Trek+Specialized alloy frame storage. I would also hazard a guess that most manufacturers are "locking" it behind carbon because it's a much easier feature to build into a bike on carbon than alloy rather than any specific agenda to use as a premium feature to upsell to carbon.

Apple sells a $2,000 iPhone and a $600 iPhone and their premium image is just fine. I'm really not seeing the brand erosion you're talking about with Ibis. What I am seeing is tons of riders, new and old on Rimpos and utterly stoked about them. Every single weekend I'll end up riding the lift with someone on a Ripmo. 1B people have iPhones, so access to the product alone doesn't erode the brand. We cannot ignore the god awful rebrand Ibis did recently, taking their iconic head badge and making it look like a sticker from Costco. The new...

Lenzerheide coming up this week. Last European stop before they head to North America to close out the season. The top 2 spots in both the men's and women's Elite standings are pretty close, with less than 75 points separating 1st and 2nd in each. Goldstone: He's having an epic year, obviously. He won Lenzerheide twice as a Junior and finished 6th in his only race there as an Elite. Bruni: Has 1 win at this track (2018), with 5 podiums in 7 races there. Höll: 2 wins as a Junior, but no wins as Elite in Lenzerheide. Best finish...

I had the honor of going on a couple different action shoots with Jonesy. He is such an expert poseur, I still use many of his “go slower to look fast in still photos” tricks to this day.

15 years ago a casual acquaintance of mine who is a trail runner and data scientist said “let the data build the segments.” Give a system enough user data and it’ll “see” how riders naturally ride trails, where they stop, where they start, where they sprint, etc. combine with elevation data, trail intersections, and other info like stream crossings and BAZINGA. I think Garmin may already have something like this for climbs? I’m not saying it’s a good idea, but it is an idea.

Correct. And it was my favorite not because it was the fastest bike or something haha The two years I rode that bike were some really good times racing. I rode an alloy frame in 2013, and then a carbon frame in 2014. So when I was 17 and 18 yrs old. I think it was my favorite because it was the first bike I had where I started to understand setup and how to make a bike go faster. Thanks in part to being on Rich Houseman's and Gwin's development team for those years. The bike itself was super...

Delrin also has a very low coefficient of friction. The red bearing material we use offers better long-term wear and durability, especially in harsher environments.

If you have a current gen Santa Cruz Nomad, you can get the chainstay protector designed for the current Bronson/Hightower (with much larger fins) and it fits fine, dramatically reducing chainslap noise. I'd guess it works on the Megatower too.

Stiffness of the shell the motor sits in is more important than you‘d think apparently. I am not a specialist but it makes sense to me since we have different power and torque numbers as well as the freedom for motor manufacturers to operate with different layouts. Belt driven inside the motor, motor around the spindle, mgu etc. I would love to have a UDH thing for motors but peeking over to other power vehicle industries I think it is very unlikely for various, valid reasons.
