Cool that sram are making a big effort for their athletes but personally I think all the 50/50 colour schemes look terrible. Wasn’t working for Pivot last year, isn’t working for the syndicate or norco this year. Frameworks knocked it out the park with the American chopper video 😂

I'll beat the drum of a different tune on this one: YT is fundamentally broken no matter the region. While I don't have most recent financials, they were abysmal as of 2023 and things have not improved since. I've mentioned it above, but they are underperforming across all profitability KPIs, and there isn't top-line growth to somehow justify it (its not an AI company, lol). I buried this in my post a month ago but YT was forced to shift from taking delivery of complete bikes to taking delivery of frames and assembling on their own. While this may seem...

If you buy the YT team assets does it come with the WC points? Maybe BK needs to pony up!

The stock tensioner is pretty hokey, just a elastic cord you have to pull super tight and tighten. According to Gates tension guide you cant really get the belt tight enough. A friend has a G3 and was having issues with the belt skipping due to lack of tension when pedaling around the bike park parking lot. The Atherton tensioner...

Is this an adjustable tensioner?

Spotted over on Pinkbike -- Ronan Dunne running his tuned mass damper in a novel location. (More like a tuned ass damper, am I right? Sorry, I'll see myself out.)

I wonder if this increase in price and marginal gain will drive a return to building a bike from the frame up. That has really disappeared post Covid and was pretty rare pre covid for the most part. The complete bike price has been so much lower then the sum of its parts it was impossible to cost effective build...

I for one am just glad the industry pulled itself out of SRAM SX hell, and we have so many Deore 12 speed options. The fact that covid happened right around the tail end of the whole SRAM SX thing may have done a huge disservice to beginners learning to ride lol We maybe could have avoided all of this if people got Deore (or maybe even CUES) entry level bikes instead of SX in 2020. People probably thought 'wow, these mountain bikes STILL can't shift just like the one I had as a kid 20 years ago'. Here, I...

Lol, wtf am i getting dragged into this for. But gives me a better idea of who went to the hassle to make a fake linkedin a few months ago to sh** talk me there of all places. As far as which US races get points, go to the UCI calendar on the uci website and filter down to the mtb races specific to the US (or any country you want). It'll tell you which class it is. Last couple pages of the rule book UCI MTB Regulations will tell you how many points that event is worth. earlier in...

there was a fair amount buzz at crankworx this year that there won't be another crankworx, and that red bull pulled out of joyride for 2026. put the WC there instead? hoping it's not true.

Super boost and short chain stays would stop me from buying a Pivot before anything Bernard did.. I wouldn't date anyone that young, but I'm a lot older than he is.. We assume things are questionable, but laws are different everywhere. Sexual assault is a whole different thing..

at the rate WB is selling off assets etc, there's a non-zero chance mtb coverage will be one of them.

Said it before, I’ll say it again - Dylan maples to Frameworks.. why? There was a race this year where neko seemed very excited about his run, more so than usual.

I really want the dirt on what went down to lead to this change. Seems like the whole project is pretty last minute. No test event is pretty wild.

Don't wanna be a Debbie downer tonight, but that podium does nothing for sponsors! Who's gonna share that image? Ten people, two bikes. Much confusion. Or do others disagree?

Meh. Remy is about where he was on Giant, not better or worse. Griffith too injured and too new to elites to judge. Jenna isn't too different from previous years, despite the heart break of being on the bubble again and again. BK also too injured to judge but 5th at Hardline just behind Ronan and Tuhoto is more than fine. (Oh and 4th in Tazzy, just behind Brosnan.) It's more so a signing strategy issue, PLUS horrid injury luck. I can't suppose Remy would suddenly be a finals threat just by being on a different bike, dunno. But... Ya...
