Getting flats has a lot to do with the rim structure and lip profile. It maybe that an AL rim deflects and deforms more before pinching the tire then a carbon. I am assuming Santa Cruz is pretty pigeoned holed into running reserve rims where other teams may be able to shop around for a rim sponsor a bit more...

Rear Triangle on Minnaar's bike sure does not look production. If it is that carbon work is really bad.

I would have to say it is a test bed for new products and suspension theories / designs. Look at specialized, pivot, and intense, all on proto bikes / suspension layouts that will most likely make there way onto enduro bikes as well.

There are quite a few folks that build paved pumptracks now. I’ve helped Avidtrails.com build a few over the last few years. If this is on public land you will likely need to put stuff out to an open bid process, fwiw.

So with that last sentence from Rider Mike, I'm curious to hear... Do folks actually think USAC "Pays" venues to put on national champs? It could not be more the opposite. It costs venues 10's of thousands of dollars, (maybe in the 6 figures when it was combined XC and DH) to meet USAC requirements, pay USAC officials, house all of the staff, and put on a national championships race. On the same vein of polling the group... Does anyone know of even ONE other legit bid that was put in to USAC to host national champs in 23/24? I'm...
