I'm on something similar t Outliers and have over a year of experience. I'm running 165 mm cranks and ground clearance to me is a non-issue, not compared to classic OneUps. Comparing the two there is a few mm difference on the outside (which is most prone to snagging), obviously more towards the cranks (this does depend on the design of the pedal as well though...) Where ground clearance was an issue was on 170 mm cranks with AliExpress parts which I used to make a proof of concept where the drop was 25 mm if I remember correctly. I...

The mount for the coming Sram Transmission mechanical is shown in the UDH stp files. https://www.universalderailleurhanger.com/ Not on my laptop or I could post up a picture. Release must be coming soon.

I have the Outlier pedals on 1 bike. I've only ridden them 2x. Personally, I don't notice at all the foot being located below the axle as far as the foot not trying to rotate around the axle, but I do feel a bit more stable on the bike as I'm a bit lower (when seated) and just a bit more down in the bike. I had to lower my dropper 10mm AND shorten my cranks 5mm. The traction is positively insane. You feel and are so locked in. Ground clearance is a real issue, I shortened my crank length...

Jeebus they needed an update 4 years ago. I really enjoyed my following mb. Will root for them coming out with a fresh lineup and not have any issues.

Something I missed earlier, but I saw it was discussed on the german mtb-news forum. The pedals on Cornelius bike, look awfully similar to the pedals Outlier mtb sells. Just without the visible "axle" and in intends color scheme. So, probably another product they're working on. Nice to see them branch out and make more products. Looks similar in design

Because technically, its not a "downhill" fork. Its a 170-190mm adjustable enduro fork with a normal steerer tube and a regular boost axle, that just happens to be dual crowned. I am guessing it is probably possible to do though, by adding a few threaded holes, either by them, or yourself. But yeah, its a bit strange.

Well I think being 6 3 also may mean you don’t have to care as much. Now personally I don’t need much drop either as I’m accustomed to spinning with my seat lower than it probably should be. In the rare moment I’m actually trying uphill I’m probably going to stand anyways. But a seat being low enough is a massive deal for me. Long reach and low stand over is essential for how I want to ride a bike. And I want that low seat with at least enough drop I can somewhat pedal. And I’m sure plenty of...

Also, websites like this tend to be an echo chamber populated by a minority. The vast majority of people don’t care. I’m 6’3” and honestly, if the post is 170mm+ I don’t even think twice about it.

" why do bike companies spec such short dropper posts on their bikes?” Brands have to spec a post that functions when fully inserted, or else folks will fully insert it, have it not work, and complain. Maybe attempt to sue them when it comes up while riding, and they get hurt. Thank your local Lawyers. So they have to spec to the smallest rider, not the tallest.

I think you guys who are this picky just need to not buy stock bikes. Or not expect perfection. I recently bought a complete bike. Changed out the dropper, handlebar, grips, and rotors. After spending $500 on that it was STILL cheaper than if I’d pieced it together myself Now shut the fuck up about dropper length and show me shiny new bike parts.

Color me impressed. Love it when people take initiative and go get something done. Why not you? Couple of thoughts that might be helpful. - Instead of inseam, I'd prefer to measure the distance from BB to top of saddle on an existing bike. I think this would make it more accurate as well by accounting for pedal/shoe, personal preference on saddle height, and (if the same saddle was used) the stack of the saddle? Maybe you could keep both and let people choose? - Maybe add some fine print on how the measurements are taken. For example, specify that...
